Really, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be someone that wasn't even there. Maybe the Red witch was behind it.
Maybe old lady Tyrell is just a kleptomaniac

After watching again I'm leaning more to a multi family conspiracy with Tywin and maw maw leading the way. Sansa is a patsy but must be spirited away and kept safe because of the debt the Lannisters owe for Jamie's return.
Still not sure about the Tyrells motive or if the Martells are involved in any way.
This shite better work out for Tyrion, if he gets killed or screwed over I will be pissed.

I agree with most that it was the wine and not the pie, but if it was the pie, I think that points to Cersei. I thought the "give the leftovers to the dogs" was a power play against Margaery, but it could have been a way to make sure the crown doesn't feed poison to the people. What's great about this episode, besides Joffrey dying, is that we have no idea whodunit or what's going to happen next.

That happens when you're such a mega douche even your own family hates you and the entire population of Kings Landing has motive.

To be fair, I've heard some people refer to the episode as the Purple Wedding. Which definitely implies that it is the wine, and not the cake IMO.

Purple is the royal color and Joffreys appearance after death.

Also, the color of "red" wine? Maybe I'm reaching with that though.

I think you are. Purple is the color of grape jelly, not red wine. Not trying to be a dick, but red wine is considered red.

Spill red wine on your clothes, the shite's purple

I watched it again, and the way she holds the cup makes me think it was the necklace. Or she dropped something in there.
Watched it again also. Her hand covers the cup for a second, then Tyrion takes it, looks into the cup then back at her before he walks off. I don't think there's much emphasis on those actions, but it did catch my eye on the rewatch

Just ask Stevie's wife about that. I would turn into a pill popper too if my husband became paralyzed from the waist down after that chopper accident AND I was carrying Stan's bastard son.

I forgot how badass a character little finger is. Dude was born of low birth and has been playing the game brilliantly.
IS IT SUNDAY YET!!!???

Is Margaery now the queen or the next youngest brother becomes king?
If it is the wine, Margaery had to have done it. The grandmother was too far away and everyone would have noticed her getting up to mess with the cup.

Sorry, I was referring to the show. I haven't read a word.
I don't know what book the show is on right now, hence my confusion.

There are only two brothers, Tommen is now king.
He is 12.
Margaery gets nothing, unless as someone said earlier she is later betrothed to Tommen.

but what if you've only read up to the Red Wedding? I have no idea what will happen next and that's why I feel like I should be able to post in here. Can there be a HODOR vote for me?
