It would have been impossible to lace the cup without being noticed. Either the wine was poisoned or the cake was.
Joffey face after eating the first forkfull of pie isnt pretty...he almost grimaces as he chews it. I think its the pie, but they took several other slices to the head table also, other people would have fell out and died.
So confusing

What the frick was that?

And that's not two tables away, she is right at the table next to Joffrey.
But Margaery is right there, she easily could have done it and she has no real motive so she would never be suspected.

Literally no one else (that we saw on screen) took a bite of it. If it was the pie, it was a massive assassination conspiracy to take out the entire Lannister clan that failed. It was not a targeted attempt at Joffrey IMO.

Obviously we will find out, they will feed the pie to some poor soul to see if it's poison.
And the cup.
Hopefully it is the start of the next episode. I;ll be pissed if they don't even show Kings Landing next week.

What if that were the case... that makes Prince Oberyn a suspect. In the trailers for Season 4, we see Oberyn in a fight with a spear or staff. What if that was his trial by combat?
So. Many. Possibilities.

Maybe because there is some bird guts and feathers mixed in with it?

Tywin was two tables over from Lady Tyrell.
Posted on 4/15/14 at 4:14 pm to wadewilson
So there was Joff's table, on either side was Tywin/Cersei at one, and then Olenna at the other.
They both could have done it.

JOff did it to himself as a final middle finger to Tyrion

Looking at the video more, The Fool was totally Johnny on the spot immediately. And he came from behind the tables so he didn't see what was going on to just react, he knew that it was planned.
That means he's in on it, and he provided the necklace. They wouldn't just throw that necklace in for no reason.
Who supplied the necklace and how it was used is totally up for debate IMO.
Olenna is in on it IMO for sure since she touched the necklace.
Here is the problem I have:
How would Olenna know about Sansa's connection to the fool? That all happened well before her time at King's Landing. Someone had to set that up IMO. But Sansa didn't know what the necklace was when she first got it, and didn't know about the plan otherwise she would have just slipped out when Joff was choking. Was Tywin there at the Name Ceremony with the Knight being saved by Sansa?

I will be pretty annoyed if the whole possibility of the pie is overlooked because of Cersei's rash attempt to blame Tyrion. You would think Tywin (if he is innocent) would be a bit more level-headed and consider both possibilities.
The alternative is that many others ate the pie that we didn't see and they were fine. But in a show like this, it seems intentional that the director of this episode would not show anyone eating. For whoever potentially attempted the pie assassination, the Joffrey/Tyrion distraction would have been unexpected. This was what caused everyone not to eat and continue focusing on those two.

Also, all those meetings with Olenna and Margaery that Sansa had. They were all becoming buddy/buddy.
Either they are trying to frame her, OR they brought Sansa into the fold behind the scenes at the meetings.
I still don't get the motive for the Tyrell's to kill Joffrey. They knew he was a sociopath before Margaery was engaged to Joffrey. I don't get it.

Cersei naming Tyrion happened in a matter of seconds and then the show ends. Tywin could easily step in and stop it right away next episode. I don't think they will overlook the pie, they will feed it to someone.

It was Joffrey's wedding, of course he would be the first to eat the pie IMO. It's not a stretch to think the others would wait til he did. But there was a delay between his taking the first bite and the choking.
I think the choking right after taking the cup for the last time makes sense. It was pretty fast acting poison though.

The necklace is a big deal in all this. I don't see the missing jewel but I didn't look that hard, but they made a huge deal about that necklace. They spent about 5 minutes of valuable show time with Margaery and Olenna THEN immediately went to Sansa and the necklace with the fool.
Olenna fondles her hair then grabs her necklace and this is the next shot.

Yeah same here. Only thing I can think is they kill him after Margaery weds him and becomes Queen, but before he can knock her up. So now maybe she tries to lay her own claim to the throne?
Although in the GoT-verse, is that wedding not considered "official" until it is consumated? This shite is confusing.

How does anyone know anything in KL? They trade information with Varys.

Again, this is in Varys' wheel house. I also don't think he'd go with a plan that would intentionally implicate Tyrion or Sansa. Maybe there is no fall guy being set up. Although I can't see Cersei being happy until someone loses their head over this.

She feeds it to him and is ready to give him another bite...but he turns away to mess with this uncle again. His "wife" is in in on it and the fact that she "would never be suspected" is key.

Notice how no one is laughing during that bullshite play. They all looked sick of his bullshite.

I thought Cersei was laughing and Tywin had a smile.
