NFL needs to get rid of kickers not change the PAT or goalposts

To make the PAT and field goal less of a sure thing I would eliminate the kicker and punters by instituting this rule.
The player who attempts a PAT or field goal or who punts must be a player who was on the field for the kicking team on the previous play.
So when they score a touchdown you are not allowed to have a person kick who was not on the field for the TD.
For field goals and punts the person who attempts the field goal or punt must be a person who was on the field the previous play. Now if they there is a turn over and the recovering team wants to attempt a field goal or even punt the ball the kicker must be someone who was on the defensive team when the all was recovered or intercepted.
The only time the rule will not apply is for the kickoff that starts the first half and second half. During the game after a team scores a field goal or TD the kicking team must use someone who was on the field for the field goal or touchdown. For Safeties the rule applies as well.
I would also widen the goal posts and have kickoffs from the 35 like they used to.

Wtf? No to all of your suggestions.

Holy shite, are you serious, how about pulling a fan out of the stands to kick the pat?

You like seeing games decided often by guys who only kicks the ball? It's a waste of a roster spot. Kickers have evolved into guys who don't play the game--tackling, blocking, and being on the field. Football should be decided by the 11 guys on the field not some guy who trots in and never gets his uniform dirty.

So lets take strategy out of football

Thanks for the input on how the game should be played.

Yes I am serious. The PAT would still be a high percentage play but not that high. I say about 70 percent of PATs would still be made. Find a player on the offense who can kick. They would have to devote more practice time to something extra but that can be rewarded at contract time.

This would crush teams that build around a strong defense
It would make the QB position even more valuable
It would make the QB position even more valuable

It would change strategy not eliminate it. Teams would go for touchdowns more and go for it on fourth down more when they are on the other side of the 50.

call me crazy, but I kind of like your idea
kickoffs are already done from the 35yd line

It would help teams with a strong defense if take away the longer field goals and make teams go for it on fourth down more.

so you want less defense in football?
It undoubtedly takes strategy out of the game. You've already stated why. It takes the decision away from the coaches by making special teams close to irrelevant

let me clarify that I like his PAT suggestion, not the punting

It would change strategy. Not take it out. Teams would go for it more and players would take extra coaching in punting and field goals. Each team will have 2-3 guys who can kick though not as well as guys who only kick.

No, it takes strategy out.
A good offensive team would go for it every time instead of deciding between 3 possible options.
Defensive teams would get hurt by this a lot more than offensive teams.

Okay 40 yard line.
So basically just encourage an onside kick every single time?
