Wrong! Seen it first hand. A chap who was trespassing ended up with a broken jaw and the sheriff told him he shouldn't have been there.
You keep bringing up trespassing. I don't think it means what you think it means.
A person who is invited into a home by the resident of said home isn't trespassing. And the step father pretty much consented to his presence in the house when he sat down and waited for them to get out of the shower.
But I forget, I don't have kids so there's no way I could have any kind of rational, informed opinion on the matter.

I brought it up once player.
The girl evidently didn't have permission to invite young lads into the home for a shower... At least that's my interpretation.

Twice, or roughly 40% of your posts in this thread. And you can interpret all you want, but the fact of the matter is you don't have carte blanche to wail on any guests in your house just because you didn't invite them and you don't like what they're doing.
Based on the few facts available, he was not trespassing, he was an invited guest of a resident of the house. He is also a minor.
If you came home to your kid in the shower with someone else, kick that person out of the house and parent your own damn kid.

ETA... Nevermind, I see this now....

You should have stopped with that.

Wow! Your obsession with LT is strong!
Based on the facts he wasn't welcome in the house, hence the arse whipping. The child doesn't have a say who can come into that home. I am willing to bet large stacks of us currency that neither the mother or father approved of the shower party. Hence the trespassing.

If that were really true then we would have already seen bullshite criminal and civil cases where someone's kid invited their friends into the house and something bad happened.

Having kids doesn't give you some kind of super clairvoyance on parenting. If it did, there would be no bad parents.
Do I know exactly how I would respond to that situation, no. But it doesn't take a genius to evaluate what my reaction would be. I certainly wouldn't let them finish the shower while I waited on the couch, and I definitely wouldn't have smacked the kid around.
Would people be supporting this guys actions if it had been his stepson with his girlfriend instead of stepdaughter with her boyfriend, and the stepdad had smacked the girlfriend around?
Something tells me no, even though it's the same circumstances.

Additionally, having kids or not having kids has no bearing on whether it is illegal for a grown man to beat up a minor teen.
It doesn't matter what you would have done or how you would have reacted. This guy broke the law and will be prosecuted for doing so. The teen's parents will (rightfully) sue and win damages against him.

Nothing close to the same circumstances. Not even in the same area code.

Some people are so stupid. It's your problem that your daughter is easy. It doesn't give you the right to beat the shite out of a minor. Maybe if you raised her to respect herself, she wouldn't be getting stuffed in your shower.

Right, because it's not your young, sweet, innocent daughter being corrupted by an evil boy who only wants one thing.
You'd probably sit your son down and crack open a celebratory beer with him, right?
Posted on 3/31/14 at 10:25 am to hendersonshands
The funny thing is that half the people in this thread saying they would "beat the shite" out of the 16 year-old boy would probably end up getting beat up by him.

No doubt. Bunch of idiots really. Can't accept that it's their fault that their daughter is a whore.
Newsflash parents of little girls: they're going to have a penis in them. The only thing you can do is to raise her to respect herself enough to where it's safe and responsible.
The whole tough talking internet guy isn't impressing anyone. It's just making you look stupid.

No shite Sherlock. The girl in the article is a grade a hooch. That being said, the boy in this story took a risk that went badly.
The point that you're missing is the father reacted as nearly every father would. The boy knew what was coming if he got caught. The boy's mom should be punishing him as her Dad should be the girl. The boy's mom shouldn't be pressing charges.
I can't imagine being in the father's position and sitting and having a chat over Coco.

I have a daughter so I can see the dad's POV, but I was also a teenage boy at one time and can understand his need to frick everything that walks. Not really sure how I would play it. My daughter is only 3 so I have some time before I have to deal with situations like this. You would think the daughter and boyfriend would have been much smarter about when and where they decided to frick.

When speaking if children, it obviously helps.
It's still a non sequitur and neither here nor there. There are tons of parents with daughters who agree with me and people without kids who don't agree with me. That goes for any discussion about kids and teenagers for anybody and their point of view.

A chap who was trespassing ended up with a broken jaw
In this story, he got beaten when he was in retreat mode and running away, your right to self defense and protection of property ends when the trespasser is running away. If you can't understand this, I don't know what to tell you.

How many kids did you say you had, Dr Spock? I find it funny that a chump with no children thinks he knows how to raise children. I am sure you think you know what you're talking about, but you're clueless.
My source of knowledge on this subject is my excellent and wonderful parents and the excellent job they did raising me and I will pass down those lessons and knowledge they taught me to kids of my own.
quote:
A father's job is to teach his daughter her worth and her value. To teach her that she is better than what some 16 year old Don Juan wants from her. That she is absolutely better than what the boy has to offer her.
Commendable statement and I see no issue with it.
But the fact remains that she so happens to be 16 like the 16 year old don juan and likely wants the same thing as he does and you have to teach her how to deal with that and that's a job for her mother imo.
quote:
never said anything about restricting information. But conceding to sex at 16 is irresponsible to the level of neglect. A father owes his child enough to do what's right for her even when it isn't easy.
Teenage boys and girls are naturally curious about each other and they're going to frick somehow, someway without the parents knowing. I know it's an uncomfortable thought to have but you would do them a world of good making sure they understand the risks, life changing consequences and what can happen if they are not careful. My parents did just that and I'm a better person for it today with a comfortable life as opposed to people who just implode in large part of their parents sheltering them excessively or not giving enough of a shite about them.
quote:
Naked kid who railed your daughter is definitely arse whipping material.
Well, since the hookup was completeley consensual and they both agreed to it, I hope you're planning on bearing the daughters arse too. Fair's fair.
But anyway, too bad the law disagrees with you and will arrest you and put you in jail if you try it. Sucks for you.
quote:
It has been all throughout history, nothing's changed.
Oh yes, it's changed.
Slavery used to be legal, that's changed now.
A lot more fricked up shite we did used to be legal and that's changed now.
Not a good argument.
