HOUSTON—A father fatally shot a teen boy he found in his daughter's bedroom early Thursday morning, deputies said.

Investigators said the father accused in the shooting woke up to find the male teen in his 16-year-old daughter's bedroom

Her younger brother went to say good night and saw two feet sticking out under the bed, detectives said. He then went to get his father.

The father walked in and asked questions, but his daughter claimed to not to know the male teen. The father then called 911, but an argument ensued with the teenage boy.

The father told police the boy dropped his hands as if to grab something, so he opened fire. The teen died at the scene.

I agree with the crowd saying why beat the kid up, daughter gave up the monkey. I have to say I would not let them finish.

The replies to this thread show us two things:

One is the double standard.
The other is that we have some ignorant meathead posters here who would rather live in a society without laws.

Fortunately there are a few who don't fit into either or both categories, but that's too few people.

No. The kid got what he deserved. Went to far if he did punch the girl in the face. Pretty sure this could be a case where common sense overrides law. Jury nullification, just find 1 juror with a daughter and he will agree the kids blatant disrespect for the parents house could easily push someone to react like that, even if it was just his stepdaughter.

You can't resort to violence, and battery is battery.

Period. Full stop.

Sure, if he gets a jury full of idiots who think that violence is an acceptable response (this is GA, so there is a chance of that), he may get off. But I hope the boys parents sue him into the poor house.

Going to pretend like you are trolling because if you are smart enough to not only type but put words together, you can't believe that only idiots would understand whopping someone's a$$ for disrespecting someone like that on their own property.

Also being there is no law against what the kid did is okay according to you. There either is or isnt wiggle room.

You can't go around beating up someone for "disrespecting" your house.

Sorry for being civilized and preferring to live in a civilized society.

Awful lot of big talkers on both sides of the fence in this thread this morning.

Fact of the matter is no one in here can say for absolute certain what they would do in this situation. Humans are capable of absolutely anything given the proper mixture of circumstance and emotions.

Why does every thread here seem to turn into some sort of alpha/beta standoff bullshite?

The internalized misandry in this thread is par for the course. They just completely shite on the dude and completely absolve the daughter of it.

It's like how they completely forget where they came from and it's even worse if they have a son of their own while saying this.

These threads never fail. I wish I could sell these people for how much they think they're worth with the expectation they could get away with what they're advocating for.

Exhibit A.

BTW, The juror with a daughter wouldn't be allowed on the jury.

What if she was 17 and the 'boy' was 37? Legally nothing changes but it's a different ballgame.

Saying that a guy who commits a violent crime should be arrested and prosecuted for his crime is "big talk"?

You don't attack someone just because you happen not to like that they are having consensual sex with your daughter.

The "ballgame" is no different than this situation.

Here's what you can do if its in your house.

You have every right to stop it in your house, tell him to get dressed and GTFO your house and be prepared to defend yourself and your property if he makes the wrong move, then berate your daughter for doing something so stupid.

Your property rights doesn't protect you from harming people if its clear there was no evil intent or act taking place.
