So they have not come to NATO and joined in 20 years? Now with trouble at the door step you want others to jump through hoops for them?

That seems kind of ironic. We didn't want them in before, but now with trouble at their doorstep, we want them in?
It was just this sort of trip-wire alliance system that got WWI going. I'm sick of it. We should simply decide each case on its own merits whether or not we are prepared to have our soldiers killed for the defense of other people.
This looks like it affects Europe more than us. If they see a problem with Putin gobbling up former Soviet states, let Germany mobilize. THAT would get Putin's attention FAR more than sending some Americans to Poland or some shite.
Think about it, what kind of government would we be sacrificing for in Ukraine?
