but it looks like he is thinking of him as a RT if we don't resign Strief
that would make a lot more sense. Strief just strikes me as that veteran that the Saints would resign. Maybe as opposed to someone like Malcolm Jenkins.
I don't know.
I would not hate the pick as it fills a need but I feel like safety would be pushed to the top of the board if Jenkins isn't resigned. Course, there is a good chance that both Pryor and HAHA are gone. In that scenario, I'd hope for Jason Verrett or C.J. Moseley instead. I like Ford too but it just seems like he's received a lot of momentum because of his Senior Bowl Week and I think we know that isn't always the best measure.
It does mean something but keep in mind defensive lineman/OLB's tend to overwhelm the O-linemen in the one-on-one drills at the Senior Bowl. It seems to happen every year.

I agree with all of this.
We just need HaHa to slide a little to the Eagles at 22 then Pryor will be there for us. If someone picks HaHa before the Eagles pick then we are out of luck to get Pryor. If that happens my 2nd choice would be Verrett.

I heard that (despite their DT and CB needs) Chicago is looking hard at a safety. Could just be a rumor but idk

These are not guys that I necessarily want, its just who all these mocks are mocking to us.
Pryor and Verrett are only two on this list I agree with.

As for the pick:
I don't think either of the safeties will be available. I don't think the team will take a CB even though that's the most popularly mocked position.
...rookie CBs often struggle. It's a tough position to adjust to in the NFL for whatever reason, and I don't think the team will be comfortable going into the season with Lewis, Verrett, White, Robinson...too many question marks there. I think CB will be priority #1 in free agency--a strategy that has worked for the Saints twice now in recent years.
That keeps leaving me thinking T or WR...wouldn't surprise me if Strief is re-signed...also wouldn't surprise me if we roll with Bryce Harris and Marcel Jones...Strief stepped in and did a pretty good job out of nowhere....maybe the Saints are expecting the same type of thing for this season...the Saints under Payton have placed more emphasis on the guards and let the tackles go...they could take a T in a later round if this is the situation.
that leaves me at WR...value-wise this year, it may make more sense to wait til later rounds, but I could see the Saints taking Beckham, Benjamin, etc. with the pick.

2012 PFF loved Victor Butler in limited snaps...would like to re-sign Haralson and call it a day at outside LB...Rufus Johnson is still around...wasn't he on the active roster for one of the playoff games?

I agree with this. Captain Munnerlyn would be my guess as top target here, and I would love it if they brought him in. He and Lewis can play either side of the field which makes them as a combo a great thing.
Couple other I wouldn't mind: Sam Shields, Will Blackmon

Saints always go best available regardless of position so it just depends on who is available.
