Splinter Cell Black List on sale for $20 on Steam. Should I?

Just so you know my history with this game, after Chaos Theory, the series has gone downhill IMO, turning more into an action series. I love the "hiding in the dark" aspect of CT and would play a game like that all day long. Is Black List going to be a disappointment to me? I saw some video of the MP and co-op and that looked interesting, but that stuff hasn't been up to par since CT either.
And I'm not at all bothered that Ironside isn't voicing Fisher anymore, or should I be?
Also, ubisoft games are off up to 75% until the 24th in case anyone is interested. Assassin's Creed, Rainbow Six, Far Cry, and Prince of Persia series are all really cheap, although I think it's a joke they are still selling the first AC for $12.
Also, Beyond Good & Evil is only $6.49. One of my all time favorite games that holds up really well except for it's really dysfunctional camera. It can be a royal pain at times.

I though about it too, but I would rather spend that money on the OG Splinter Cell , Double Agent, and Chaos Theory.

Just because I said I could
Double Agent was alright. The back and forth with your loyalty was an interesting take. And this is when they started letting you play out in the daylight, which made stealth even harder.

yeah, double agent was decent, and it's the newest one I have played. I could play the OG Splinter Cell all the time though. Sooo much fun. I really need to pick it up on Steam. I haven't played Pandora Tomorrow though. I'll have to check that out too. Hell, I didn't even know there was one between the first one and Chaos Theory.

I always heard this was the best one since chaos theory but I haven't played it yet nor did I play chaos theory. I think it did the more modern take of allowing you to take different approaches instead of just stealth. This of course upsets fans of the originals since it isn't exactly how it used to be.
eta: Pandora tomorrow isn't on pc anymore as far as I have seen. I know you can get it in the ps3 store but that may be beneath you...

Honestly, I started the first one when it came out and didn't care for it. Never played Pandora. Someone "forced" me to play CT and was in love. But going backwards in a series is never easy since you are losing a lot of the mechanics that were introduced in the later ones. Pandora looked like it would be fun, but who has time for games anymore.

Having to be stealthy is what made it hard, and that's what I enjoy. I don't play many single play games for the fact that they just seem too easy to me. I don't like bursting into a room guns a blazing and killing everything. I played waaaaay too much Goldeneye as a child, and it trained to be almost shadow like.
I guess that's why I enjoy the Splinter Cell games.

Thanks for the heads-up.
You should check out Chaos Theory for sure.

You're trying to get your membership card revoked again, I see.

This kind of goes with what Sic was saying, it's hard to go backwards with games sometimes. There are so many games to play now that you just can't catch them all so older ones get missed and advanced mechanics make it that much harder.

Was that for bruce again?
Do we need to redo orientation?

I loved the old school Splinter Cell games and Chaos Theory was absolutely the pinnacle.
Double Agent was fun but not quite as good as the original, and Conviction was an insult to the franchise (at least in terms of sticking with your roots). Random complaint, I also miss hearing Lambert's voice during the missions.
I'd love to hear quality input on Black List.
