re: Is this pretty much proof that Rettig is out as well?

Anything less than "LSU #1 OH YEAH!" is considered sky is falling to you guys.
Starting a thread in Feb that a redshirt freshman is done and needs to transfer because a Rivers couldn't get it done seems a little like you think the sky is falling. Then couple that with your comments about JJ and your perception that Les will over rule the nfl o coordinator and it's not hard to see what your thinking.
You took one comment that the dudes brother made and spun that in your head to mean we are going right back to the offense of jj. That's seems reactionary. If whatever offense we use next ran one read option play a game then that was to many for Rivers. Rivers knew this and decided to transfer. Heck rivers was always a project anyway.
Saying that Rettig is now done at lsu before his second spring practice because Rivers transferred seems way to reactionary.

I'd be willing to bet that if Rettig doesn't see the field this year, he's gone.
I'd agree to that.

I'm simply pointing out facts that we are not very good at running an option style offense.
First off, that's totally not all you've said. Les clearly did something to you personally because you seem to really have it out for him. Pretty sad, but that's beyond the point. Secondly, what makes you believe we are going to "an option style offense"? Do you really think we can't run ANY option because "LES BLAH BLAH MEDDLING BLAH BLAH"?

Do you really have your life so invested in LSU football, that the mere questioning of Les Miles' authority causes you anger?
No anger at all. I just think you're dumb and want you to shut up. So I said to shut up

I'm saying Rettig is done because the facts are all pointing to this being Jennings job no matter what, despite his play suggesting it should be an open competition.

Just like the OC's were since 2007, right?
You can keep thinking this isn't Cameron's offense if you want. I'm sure a long time nfl vet like Cameron is sticking around the program, handpicking high school talent to offer, and recruiting is arse off because he doesn't have control of the offense.
I mean he had a falling out with the Ravens because Harbough wanted to run a different offense, but he doesn't mind Les telling him what to run.

I don't think he's done already. But i do agree, that if he rides the bench this season, the likelihood of him transferring is very high.
I trust the coaches decision to use whatever QB they think is best. However, going over past history (the crowton years, followed by stud) Les Miles has a history of wanting to control the O when we have a qb that can run. Now hopefully, Les was only doing this because he did not trust Crowton or Stud, and will let Cam run the O because he trusts Cam.
And obviously, i'm not saying Les should have no input or call no plays on the field. But let your generals do the job they were hired to do.

I don't have it out for Les. Read my posts. Not one of them is made in anger. I'm simply stating that Les likes to run the option style offense, and call the plays, and when he does, we are not good at it.

I'm not saying definitively that we are. It's way early and practice hasn't even started. I'm saying i hope we don't go to an option style. But if we do, I would rather the OC call the majority of plays, rather than Les, given his track record.

And again, you are acting like a child. Is that what you do when you don't get your way, in real life? You don't like someone's opinion so you tell them to shut up? Sad, sad, little man.

So you're worried about something you've completely made up in your own head. Got it.

Were you not around during the Crowton years up to Studrawa? This is the only reason i think that miles MIGHT want to control the offense. Again, maybe Les decided he wanted to run the show during those years, because the OC's weren't getting the job done. And that's fine.
I really do hope that Cam is THE guy, considering how well we did last season. I'm not saying he won't be the guy. I'm just stating my resevations based on past history.
But if Cam wants to run the option, then i'm fine with running the option. I have confidence that he knows what the strengths and weaknesses are of each of his QB's and will utilize them to the best of their ability.
And the only reason i think we "might" go to an option style offense, is based on the outback bowl and Jennings. Now granted, Jennings was a young qb, with hardly any experience, so i do understand running more option/run plays. I just hope this offseason we develop our guys, which i'm sure we will, and we make our qb's passers first, and runners 2nd.

Retting will compete for a starting role. It seems like a Jennings and Harris battle but I think Rettig has a chance. Most likely Jennings from the start but with Harris enrolling early it could get interesting.

Who called the offensive plays prior to Cameron being hired?

Once again makes no sense. What's facts? Jennings was ahead of Rettig as true freshman. If Rettig catches up or passes he will get his shot.
Competition hasn't even started yet and coaches said spring ball would be open competition.

Funny coming from a guy who told another anonymous message board guy to "shut the frick up" because he did not like what he was saying.

Do you really believe that Stud was calling the plays when Crowton left? The playbook was pretty much identical to Crowton's last couple years to Studrawa. My personal opinion (which is shared by many) is that Miles was calling the majority of plays.
