no problem

my problem with golf is that i hate practicing

i'd much prefer playing 18 holes over banging a couple of buckets of balls

i'm a 7 handicap, but i feel like i could be better if i tried.....i just dont have the work ethic

It must just be mental issue with me as well. I can go to range one day and blow thru a couple buckets and get real consistent with ball striking, but it just doesn't transition to the course usually.

I rarely have time to practice so when I get a day where I can get to the course, I end up playing. Hard to get the handicap down like that. 15 years ago I was down to a 4 but took about a 10 year break from the game. Now I'm around a 9 or 10; I can shoot 77 or 97 never know what game will show up. Practice is the one thing it takes to improve.

Pretty much describes myself. I just don't want to practice anymore, I think if my friends were better I would give a shite more. I played with a plus handicapper I was friends with on the junior tour many moons ago and that really helped with my focus (like a use to have) in real competition. I just don't play serious enough to really care about practicing, so hard to be consistently good with that mindset.
