Great anecdote. Now please link proof of your assertion that the majority of people on this board dislike Popeye's.

Meridian Popeye's
Stopped at one last fall and it was by far the best service I've had at a Popeyes.

Grew up going there. Ate the shite out of the buffet the other day.

You do realize that there are some posters on this site who actually don't think he's a douche? It's amazing to me.

Sad R2R - Twisting folks words to meet your gripe again?

I will be happy to stand beside any words I actually wrote.

Did I write "Majority", or did you write it?

Are you short on reading comprehension skills?

Sad

You made up a phantom opponent so you could mind-numbingly wax on and on about some world where people hate, or even care about, the Meridian Popeye's, and then you somehow wove in a tidbit about Mr B's? Just calling a spade a spade brother.

I don't.
But I like everyone.

As an aside, I started reading because I thought: "hmmm, 6 pages on Popeyes. There's gotta be a fight to watch."

Took 5 pages in for it to start.

I have been somewhat disappointed with Mr B's in NOLA more times in the past 10 years than with Popeye's in Meridian

There used to be one close to New Iberia that I went to before. Maybe this is the same one though. We went there when the HS baseball tournament was held in New Iberia.

I have for a long time been bewildered by the idea of how locations are left to die in the cities where the brand was manufactured. It simply makes no sense to me that it is literally dying on the vine. They used to have one at the North Gates on Highland which also a few blocks further had a Church's.

Popeye's is advertising like crazy in Georgia right now.

Don't think too hard.

When that popeyes opened, the neighborhood and food trends were radically different.

The rents and (cough) costs of labor(OCare) are certainly much higher now. These all factor into their decision to close.

Looks like the location on Mag that closed was a decision by the franchiser. They were in business there 40 years. More than likely the owner was done slanging chicken. They likely own the property and will make a killing off it.

Probably the case. I grew up with a guy whose dad owned some McDonalds. Those make money hand over fist but some people just get tired of the monotony of it after 20 years or so.

No true effect on their rates yet. Behave yourself.

Wimps. I remember negotiating with Popeye's franchise guys from Atlanta about their wanting to put a drivethru on the property. I was representing the neighborhood association. We went to Oliver Thomas and helped us block their proposal. Over a decade later, they've gotten their revenge.

I don't think these guys react to a stimulus...they get out ahead of the issue.

Not saying that's the issue here...but just sayin'...
