Finally upgrading and I get deals through the State for Sprint. How's the service/reception?

Horrendous. Absolutely terrible.

Not good, I got a really good deal but when my contract is up I will be switching.

The data service is not as good as At&t. I have been with sprint since 7/2013. when my contract is up, I am switching to someone else.

As a Sprint customer and one that travels weekly out of state, Sprint's data service is terrible in Baton Rouge. OTOH, voice - no issues.
I often lose data connection in and around the Baton Rouge area for miles at a time. Doesn't happen so much in Austin, Dallas, Houston or San Antonio. In fact, 4G LTE is fairly fast but Baton Rouge, a totally different ball game.

Yeah, he should get ready to have extended coverage most of the time and get ready to say prayers for WiFi wherever he goes.

I don't have an issue with going into extended coverage - actually wish it would do it more often than hanging onto 1 bar of service from Sprint - won't matter to him if it does as roaming is covered.
One way to break your Sprint service? Download an app called Roam Control and force roam onto Verizon. Sprint will send a letter stating that if you continue to do that, they will terminate their agreement with you. When they do, you won't have to pay the ETF.

I go into extended coverage all the time and the internet doesn't work the entire time. It'll say Sprint 1x in the left corner and I know I'm screwed.
A lot of times I'll put it into airplane mode for around 10 seconds and then take it off airplane mode and it'll pick up a 3G signal.
I'm on my family's plan, so I can't really complain too much. My parents don't get it because they are in Covington where LTE is abundant!
I will be switching to AT&T the second I get my own plan.

i have sprint and enjoy it..just make sure when you upgrade to get one of the new tri-band phones..all of the towers arent upgraded around baton rouge but when they do, man, speeds being reported between 30 and 50 down on the band41 towers.. i live close to gonzales and get about 15-20 mbs down speed with 4glte(i have the new lg g2) i havent had problems like people complain about, i guess its been a lucky 12 years for me??

I've had Sprint, Verizon, & AT&T.
Sprint & Verizon = Ugly fat girl everyone denies hooking up with
AT&T = Hot arse model type that OT Ballers lie about hooking up with when we all know they're stuck in the friend zone.
