I definitely don't let McNamara influence my thought process.

I just don't see anything huge happening. I mean we'll see. Chad Ford says this will be an extremely active trade deadline, but they've said that before and...nothing.

McNamara's now trying to throw crap at the wall with Josh Smith for Gordon. I would probably cry if that happened.

Still, unless the team getting him is really willing to roll the dice, waiting for Gordon to get a healthy season under his belt at the rate he is playing is a good idea. He is overpaid, but if a team can not acquire a better player for an expiring or with an MLE, an over the cap team wanting to make the playoffs may take the chance.

Based on the current standings and the guards that some of those teams have, I'd say the most likely buyers are Cleveland, Charlotte, Minnesota, and Denver.

Most other teams which are on the lip of the playoff, either in or out, are set at the 2 or are too capped out / have no assets.

Id throw Boston in there, too.

Dell was pretty active at the deadline during the time the NBA owned the team and was pretty much told he couldn't do certain deals due to Cuban et all bitching.

IIRC, we were nearly a facilitator in an OJ Mayo deal between Indiana and Memphis that would have seen us get Brandon Rush for nothing and it got killed due to a combination of NBA approval taking the deal past the deadline and Cuban's previous bitching about us using cash considerations in the Carl Landry deal.

Wouldn't tyreasaurus garner some action? I don't want to trade him, shite he is a personal favorite, but I would think teams would be interested in him if we were willing to part ways.

I don't see it with them.

Ainge is looking to clear the decks there, salary-wise, over the next season or two.

The only way I see them getting Gordon is if we take on shite contracts like Gerald Wallace, which is even worse than Gordon's deal because he has negative value and the whole thing is guaranteed.

Hard to gauge that when his contract has so much left on it. I can't see anyone buying on that one and giving a fair price.

Detroit may bite on it but they'd want us to take Josh Smith back in exchange.

That was my first thought too. Blech.

Smith for Gordon? Ugh! That would be going from the frying pan into the fire! McNamara always throws a bunch of crap against the wall hoping to say I told you so (and claiming things are always fluid when wrong).

There aren't many contracts worse than Gordon, but Josh Smith's is one of them.

Doesn't SFP love Josh Smith? He would probably cum his pants.

If Monty could convince Smith not to take as many 3s, he'd be kind of like an Aminu the other defense would have to respect. That's an expensive way to upgrade Aminu, but I don't think it'd be a total disaster, just more of a sideways move trading Gordon for Smith. I personally would rather let Gordon expire than take on Smith, I just think it could work out better than many think at first glance.

That's the thing...would he add something to the team? Yes. Could he be a useful player? Yes.

But at his cost? With his year's remaining? With his skill set? No thanks, I'd rather hold on to Gordon and let him expire or get moved for expirings.

How a bout a Roberts-less, Monty-less, throw in some other trade bait that's not Rivers-less, and get Monroe.

Obviously a 72 hour marathon fap fest would ensue.

The guys on the block aren't exactly worth kicking the tires on. Mike Brown, Mike D'Antoni, Jason Kidd, Maurice Cheeks, Larry Drew, Mike Woodson, etc.

Maybe we take Lionel Collins off the FA pile, but I don't see a lot of available coaches much better than Monty.
