so you rather go to a gym full of meatheads, screaming after every rep, dropping weights on the floor, sweating up a storm and not wiping after themselves??

So you watch their whole time at the gym?

How do you know that they aren't doing light cardio after doing lots of weight training?

Or that they didn't already do a tougher workout earlier that day?

This.

I used to work out religiously, but got busy with other things and wasn't able to work out consistently for about 3 months, maybe 4. I'm finally back at it again, but was only able to lift maybe half of what I used to...so to some, it may look like half assing it...but I'm not. You don't know anyone else's circumstances.

As far as I'm concerned, as long as they practice proper gym etiquette, they can do their entire workout with 5 lbs weights. I don't care.

I don't get the point of driving to the gym and wasting an hour or two half assign it. I see this a lot.

I suggest you stop looking at what bothers you.

aren't even sweating after half an hour.

it takes a whole lot for me to sweat. I usually won't even start until the temperature is 90 while jogging about a half hour outside. So at the gym, it almost never happens unless I wear a pair of sweats. It's about body temperature, not the effort I give while working out.

you hardly go to the gym at all. certainly aren't at the gym now. but you felt the need to start this thread for some e-attention, right?

Maybe they are warming up with light weights. Maybe they are coming off an injury. Maybe they are half assing waiting on their workout partner. Maybe they just want to get away from home.

I don't watch or worry about other people at the gym...only insecure people do that!

On a side note, the last time I hit chest I strained my damn chest muscles. Last time I did shoulders I strained my left shoulder. Maybe I need to cut myself a little slack

Recognize that some people could possibly see your routine and consider it half assing it compared to their workout.

Recognize that lots of people probably see the OP as a douche who's trying way to hard to be cool.

He could always just go work out, mind his own business and not worry about everyone else.

Both of my parents have hip and knee replacements, and if you watch them exercise at the gym you might think they were half-assing it. They simply just don't have the range of motion or the strength (or the goal) to exercise like they are training for a Decathalon.

Have you considered the possibility that not everyone on the planet wants to look like the situation?

Yeah those losers need to either grunt harder or get out of the way for the real bros.

I tore my left bicep completely from my elbow last time I was at a gym. I was lazy for months after that surgery. If I go back to the gym and someone has a problem with me easing back into it, they can go frick themselves.

They made a New Year's resolution. They'll be gone within the next month or so.

The month of January and the month before Spring Break are the most annoyingly packed months at the gym.

Just quit already folks!
