Louisiana doesn't have 500 good beers that we get distributed. It works in places like Georgia, Florida and Texas because they have an abundance of good offerings.
That's what TIA doesn't understand.
No I definitely did not.

The Ruthless Rye and Chili I had the other night disagrees with you.

Chili I don't consider spicy. I'm talking about something with raw jalapenos in it or Indian food.

I wouldn't argue with that. I'd gladly drink a Golden Pheasant or something similar with that though.

I find wine to be more easily paired with food. Again, IMO.
Totally disagree. Beer has a style to accompany a lot of flavor hooks that wine doesn't.

Pairing heavy beer is not an easy task.
For some styles, you have to tread with caution, but it's not hard. Most beer is lighter than wine and the carbonation has a nice cleansing effect, which I find particularly important with cheese, since it tends to coat your mouth.

Some like it hot. Hoppy beers tend to enhance the heat in spicy food. In my experience, this can be a good thing if it isn't overdone on both ends.
A lot of people find it to be a good pairing. I know Garret Oliver champions it along side Asian food.

I agree with the latter than beers offer a wider variety of flavors and nuances, but re: the former.. I think wine pairs better with food. It's very rare that I'll drink beer while I'm eating. Just not my thing. Too heavy.
I much prefer wine with dinner than beer...

I've seen a few restaurants out west that have 'Beer vs Wine' pairing dinners.
Each course is paired with a beer and a wine and each person attending votes on which pairing they prefer.
I'm not much of a wine drinker, but would love to attend one of these...
Link to a recap of one that Stone Brewing Company was involved with...

I'm just having some fun. I enjoy beer as much as anyone. I do not have the experience with beer as many of you mavens. I do find that some of you think that beer should have a more prominent spot in fine dining. Then go out and meet the demand you say exists.

So basically you're just trolling to be a dick. Congrats

Would a bar that carries craft beer be successful in the FQ?
As a full-on craft beer bar, I think it would need to be a chain to set up shop in the Quarter or CBD. The logistics of getting things up and going in the FQ is a daunting task. I don't see it being a place locals would go to very much considering you'd have to charge a dollar or two more per beer. Maybe I'm wrong.

Who said it was fine dining. That's what I had for Dinner the other night.
The Meddlesome Moth is a great example of what a beer oriented restaurant can be. Doubt we'll have anything like it in LA anytime soon but it's out there.

Win at what?
Just because wine pairings are more popular doesn't mean a damn thing.

Dude, wine is generally heavier than beer.

A few weeks of daily visits to Dunkin Donuts and I could be.

A balanced English IPA such as Meantime India Pale Ale or Brooklyn East India Pale Ale tackles a fiery Madras curry with cooling bitterness and some heat-moderating malt. The hops amplify the spice at first, but ultimately carry it away.
It's all just people's opinions and everyone has a different palate but I found it funny that the first link I clicked on was suggesting Indian foods with IPAs

Yeah, I know what opinions are. Did I offer my post up as scripture?

the carbonation in beer makes it automatically a more filling drink, IMO.
