On the one hand, he's probably right. On the other, I'd rather him have said that he hoped race wouldn't be an issue.
Did he bring it up out of the blue, or was he asked specifically about race? I couldn't tell from what was written.

..What's so awful????? This President has done more to fan the flames of racial tension than any President in the last 50 years. He is a race baiter extraordinaire !!!!! He has the sack to make those comments??? History will judge this clown as just that ....a clown in way over his head. Black or White....this guy has been the WORST President in American history!!!!....and it ain't even close.

"Giving the benefit of the doubt" is not the same as "worshipping me as a messiah".
