I hunted all day yesterday without any luck and see why . They are fricking running everyehere at night with big ol moon.I left my house at 330 this morning for work.i get about a mile from my driveway and saw several deer. I see a doe coming and slow way up for her to cross. She scooted by but one of her friends couldn't wait and hauled arse into my truck. That sucker hit hard . My nerves of steel allowed me to continue on. I'm off Monday and will ride to the back of my place wearing nomex and drinking coffee. Should be a guaranteed deer.

So you don't have it in the bed of the truck now?

No she hauled arse. There's blood in the bed but it ain't hers. Hers is down the side.

I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You might want to lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder

I left my house at 11PM last thursday night headed for Arkansas.
Between Benton, La and Okolona, AR I saw 31 deer on the side of the interstate, not sure how I didnt manage to tag one.
Sunday headed home, I get a call from my dad at 1:30PM. He was on I40 near Carlisle, AR and a doe fuuucked the side of my moms Camry up.

Damn, well you lucked up. I hit one in Felsenthal, AR in 2004. Hit a couple more on 24 west in MS close to my camp. This is the worse damage that I got.

On my way to go duck hunting last thursday morning around Canfield, AR, I saw about 25 just between Plain Dealing and Bradley. They were all standing very close to the road and I thought for sure one was going to jump out but never happened.

Traveling backroads in Arkansas, I usually randomly honk my horn at night all the way down the road (99% I am the only truck on the road).
As far as honking directly at a deer or group, I would be afraid that they would get startled and jump out in front of me instead of back into the woods. I figure they dont know which direction to run is the correct one.

This is what I have always thought too. It is usually really early 3-5am when I am driving and see them so I just cross to other lane and hold on a little tighter than normal. If one comes, at least I figure I'll be gripped down on the wheel.

I stopped and let one cross the road in front of me. The one behind it ran full speed ahead into my truck. I see them everyday and they are unpredictable. They can be standing there just looking and all of a sudden run across the road. That's 3 in the last 2 years for me.
