Received a targeted 100k point Amex Platinum offer in the mail today. The benefits sound sexy, but the fee is obviously pretty steep. I had no intention of getting another card right now, and certainly not an Amex. Thoughts?

So does AMEX points only work with the airlines in your link or is there others with different points? Above you, the guy took Aer Lingus or whatever using Avios, so does that work somehow through AMEX? Just wondering in case I get lucky and get the 100k offer at some point. Or if I ever see the 100k offer from Avios again, I will jump on it.
