Trying to plan ahead a little for an upcoming anniversary. Thinking about making a getaway trip to St Francisville. Any good romantic restaurants there that I should investigate?
What about New Roads? All I really know is Satterfields and Morels. Either one decent? Anything else?

If you're considering the restaurant on the Myrtle Plantation, don't.

I like Magnolia Café. Only had lunch there, but I believe they serve dinner some nights. The Oxbow would be another option, but I think they may have closed up shop.

Yea, stay away from the restaurant at the Myrtles. The Mag is an option, but won't be romantic. They do have live music every Friday night and that is usually a good time. The restaurant at The Bluffs may be something to look into, but haven't eaten there in awhile. The Oxbow is permanently closed, according to their facebook page. St. Francisville is very limited in the restaurant scene. Hope this helps any

So they closed the Church's in the gas station? Damn shame.

Cross the bridge and go find something in New Roads

Bluffs would be good.
The South of the Border is back open, and quite consistent now.
The Carraige House at the Myrtles underpreforms in all categories.

Que Pasa has a really good steak for the price-point. Their fried seafood is really tastly as well.

Churches is still open
Hell yes. One summer, back in my younger days, I had a chance encounter at the gas station that houses said Church's with one of the best looking strippers I've ever seen at 3am at a gas station that houses a Church's. I, a broke college kid, was getting off the night shift at the paper mill in Port Hudson. She was getting off from whatever strip joint she had been working at. We both whipped in the parking lot at the same and walked to the door of the store. Her, I soon found out, after a pack of cigs and me after a cup of coffee and some Yellow Jackets to propel me along my journey back north to God's country. As we approached the door we were greeted by a sign that read "be back in 5 minutes". I broke the ice with some crack about the store employee answering the call of nature. She tossed her glorious glitter coated blond mane back and laughed a deep hearty laughed. After that we sat in the glow of our respective head lights and chit chatted about one thing after another. Neither of us noticing that the 5-minutes the lying sign proclaimed had became 5 minutes tardy. Then 10. She lamented about her profession and the woes that came with. Never calling it by name. I lamented about having just spent 9 nights working a shutdown in the bowels of a paper mill. Finally, regrettably, the click of the lock on the door ended our parlay. I, in true gentleman's fashion, opened the door that allowed her access to her Virginia Slims and went to the back of the store in search of my 6-hour old coffee. By the time I made it to the counter she was opening the door to her weather beaten Grand Am. In haste to get back out there before she could depart I neglected the purchase of my caffeine pills. The cursed cashier doddled around ringing up my coffee at the same pace in which he apparently defecated. By the time I made it outside all I could see was the shadow of her waving hand and the glow of her newly lighten Virginia Slim. Then the vanishing glow of her 1 head light. At least I still have her memory. And the knowledge that that gas station that houses the Church's chicken is still in operation.
