46 or 50" TV? Leaning toward the 46.

Same number of pixels, the 46 should be sharper and better, right?
Between these two:
Samsung 46" 5500
Samsung 50" 5500
I have to wait till they get the 50" 5500 back in stock to see what they're pricing them at. What say ye? 46" right?
ETA: I'm not really keen on paying for 240Hz or 3D ATM.

I don't know much about the technical stuff on TV's, but I don't think the pixels differ with the size of the screen....Therefore not causing the picture to be better or worse by size.
I go with the 50'

Well it's 1920 x 1080p no matter if it's 46" or 60 inch. The pixel size is the only thing that could change....right? I'm not old enough I need some giant TV.

The only ones at that price have a bobo base on them.

i just went through this same predicament last week. was looking at a 46, 47, and 50". I pulled the trigger and went with the 50. very pleased and glad I went bigger. looks awesome.

once you go big you will never wanna go back.
I have a 55 in my Living Room...60 may the biggest I'll go in there, but definitely worth it
46 in my bed room and Play Room.

Unless you have Supermans eyesight just get the bigger TV

There's no way a 55 or 60 can be sharper than a 46 right? Is the argument that you just can't tell at these sizes? I don't understand otherwise. I want the most crisp sharp picture, not some huge arse TV.

It really depends on the size of your room and the viewing distance.

Plasma sucks that's why. LED is the best IMO. Best picture and more color.

LOL what? The color is much better on a plasma. The image is slightly sharper on an LED.

If you want the best image quality, in both 2D and 3D, and aren’t bothered about the electricity cost, a plasma could be the way to go. It’s also a good choice if you – for some reason – can’t sit directly in front of your TV, thanks to the wide viewing angles.
If running costs, thinness and brightness are more important, an LED TV will appeal.

You are way over-thinking this. Get the bigger TV. I had a 46 in my living room and moved up to a 55. After ten minutes, I was trying to figure out how I ever survived with the 46(which is now in my bedroom).

Welcome to my life.
I guess what you're saying is that taking up a larger portion of your field of view (even with a blurrier image) provides a better brain image than a very detailed smaller portion.

that depends, are you pulling up a chair in front of the TV To watch?
Go bigger.

I don't think they have the same number of pixels. You're thinking as if a larger one will just stretch and distort the image, like when you maximize a youtube video. That's just not the case.
The bigger tv will be every bit as clear and colorful. And bigger. So get it.

Pretty much. My parents have an 80 inch Sharp in their living room(huge living space) and the picture is fine.

What are viewing distances? That's where size matters. Sure the pixel count will be the same, but if you're too far you can get a larger picture with no discernible quality difference.
For the most part, if it's acceptable for your viewing distance, go bigger.

FWIW, unless you are sitting closer than a couple of feet to the TV, you won't notice any change in resolution from the larger TV.
If even then.
