It's all about the narrative man!
Case in point...back in 2003 I created this as a joke and it got out onto the net and into the LSU locker room. At least I heard it had. It wasn't my intent. I had taken something Richt had said, twisted it a bit and came up with that.
It wasn't until I was standing on the steps of the PMAC during the ESPN Gameday show and Corso whipped it out and referenced it was I sure. He had been in the LSU locker room and had seen it literally plastered all over the place.
Honestly...I felt kind of bad. On the other hand, I think will all liked the outcome of that game...

I guess coaches / staff could do that as well.

Pre-game evaluation of your opponent is important, but it is only the post-game evaluation that truly counts.

it's not like we're super human. We don't do any one thing really well on either side of the ball...why wouldn't they be confident in the same way that we would be confident because they don't do any one thing really well on either side of the ball?
They don't have any reason to be intimidated by us.

I really don't think they can cover both WRs with the regular QB. I haven't , and really only the coaches know, seen how good LSUs back up can be. If he's as good as LSUs starting QB then it will be a blow out.

they might get waxed.
feeling tremendous about this game now.

no one should be intimidated by any opponent. however..
are you for serious? LSU had one of/if not the highest 3rd down conversion rate in the entire NCAA. LSU has 2 first round grade receivers along with an ALL SEC back behind a terrific run blocking line.. and now they just added a QB who can extend drives even more so than before. LSU should come out and rush all over Iowa.
The defense has the talent and all the experience of the season behind them. The younger studs are getting more playing time and should ball just as the past. Look for LSU to be hungry to actually win this bowl game.. whereas last year those juniors couldn't get to the pros fast enough. LSU with Cam Cameron is a brilliant offense.

Skip was quoted as saying that he knew LSU had turned the corner as a top tier SEC program when Geo took the lead late in the 4th qtr. Instead of witnessing the Tiger faithful pretty much quiet down and begin too accept the loss as in seasons past, the Valley began to slowly erupt into an "LSU LSU LSU LSU" chant that the team fed off of to eventually cap off their first victory of the year over the favored Bulldogs with Skyler's most beautiful catch of his career.
That drive seemed to mark the beginning of a very significant paradigm shift for the LSU program. It marked a distinct change in perception that effected every aspect of the FB program from that day forth...
and it was all because of your AWESOME pic and quote brother!!!!!

Man some of you are either really not that bright, or you're going way to extremes to minimize and discount what was said.
It was a slam against how good (or bad) the LSU football team is this season. It was worded carefully. But anybody with a brain knows what he meant.
I hope LSU beats the frick out of this Iowa team.

It's Iowa. They are just trying to get attention. The Uncle Rico of the B1G.

They should be confident, according to LSU fans LSU will come out flat because they expected a better bowl game (Cotton) vs a better team

I'm not impressed with LSU either. Still think they win by two touchdowns.

Tigers will come ready to play

Don't think for a minute that Iowa can't win.

Where did I ever say Iowa can't win? Of course they can.
I was simply pointing out that a member from the opposing team was saying that watching LSU on film made him very confident about winning. I thought it was something a player shouldn't say before a game about any team. I considered it bulletin board material to rile up the players (possibly) and the fanbase.
If an LSU player made the exact comments about Iowa, I'd be posting that he was being disrespectful and stupid for providing bulletin board material.
