I really want Hootie on our team.

Wait when detillier even start becoming an authority figure on HS recruiting? I didn't even think he followed it.

He certainly doesn't personally talk to the recruits or their coaches.
I'm not sure why he'd pretend to be an insider type.

For starters no he isn't. And certainly not when it comes to recruiting.

Detillier doesn't know shite when it comes to high school recruiting. I cringe every year when he comes do his once a year guess broadcasting for a Central Lafourche game and he talks out of his arse about recruits.
Sounds like this
"I TELL YOU WHAT THAT'S A BIG TIME D1 PLAYER RIGHT THERE. THERE'S ALOT OF SCHOOLS LOOKING AT HIM AS AN ATHLETE ACCORDING TO HIS RIVALS.COM PAGE. HE'S GETTING LOOKS FROM BLAH BLAH BLAH...." That's also how his articles on recruits in the Daily Comet look. "This player is a 1 star recruit and is being recruited by blah, blah, blah and just reads off the teams on his profile." He doesn't know/interview any of these kids or coaches.
Or there's when he broadcasts the River vs Bayou All-Star game and every year he screams "THERE'S 15-20-30 KIDS ON THE ROSTER THAT WILL BE PLAYING COLLEGE BALL NEXT YEAR" When the next year comes only a handful of kids are playing college ball.
He just takes what he reads online and passes off as his own in a loud authoritative tone so no one will question it.

horndog, why do/did CRob and Sims have more sway than Johnny D? Neville > Ouachita, no?

Whats up hot carl?! crob has just been more persuasive than anyone else. Always in his ear. I dont know why JD hasnt been in his ear more. He has said he wanted the decision to be Hooties. I think he is more involved with him now.
Hootie needs to go where Hootie wants to really go, not his buds. That LSU, imo.

Would I be correct if I say Hootie has until Jan 15th to decide if he's going to be a Tiger (EE)?

Detillier is the same guy who said Mark Ingram would rush for over 1000 yards this year and have at least 8 td's. All Ingram has to do in the last two games is rush for about 800 yards with 7 td's to make that happen. I'm just saying.

Whether you like Detillier or not, that is exactly what he is.
Do people really think he's evaluating players (especially high school players) on his own?

Detellier was made by Buddy D. He was called a "Pro football analyst". Later he added "college football expert". He uses 1st names as though he personally knows coaches and players. He is a showman nothing more. His inside info is from the internet. He is just trying to sell his pro draft book.

hootie isnt playing lb.

Personally, I think Bama and LSU backed off him. Hootie will be too big to be a DB. Speed is a concern. I think he will be a LB in college.
Love how these internet and band geeks think they know more than Mike and Derick.

It's a few guys on the radio stating their (somewhat expert) opinions and somehow some of the wackos here act like it's Sinead OConnor tearing up pictures of the Pope on SNL.
We will see how it all shakes out. Both LSU (hopefully) and Bama's classes will be filled with top notch talent. It's not hard to believe that the availability of spots on the teams might be tightening up towards the end.

Redfield says LSU is in contact with him and intimates that he is going to LSU.
Ponamsky says his Bama offer stands and that LSU (as of yesterday morning)has had no contact with him.
Detillier says what Detillier says.
Me-I'm just worried that I'll be embarrassed with my grown-man Tony Brown LSU jersey at the tailgate next year.
