Who: LSU Tigers (5-2) vs Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks (3-1) (Colors: Maroon & Black)
Where: PMAC (13,215, 47th largest NCAA)
When: Saturday, December 14th - 7:00pm central time
How to Watch:TV: CST, Radio: 98.1FM, Web: GeauxZone
Well the 12 day break from action is almost complete and it can't come soon enough. With Football and Basketball on break, the lull has been nearly unbearable, however, LSU Hoops gets back on the hardwood Saturday to play in-state foe UL-Monroe. While Monroe isn't a brand name team, they have played some good basketball this season.
In their season opener they lost to #5 Kansas. Since then they have won three straight, including an overtime win against Northwestern St (LSU beat NWSU 88-74). LSU's last game was a big win against Butler to capture 3rd place at the Old Spice Classic.
The Tigers face a team who has played exceptional defense this season. They are third in the NCAA in 3 point defense and on offense they shoot nearly 55% from inside the arc. They have scored over 1 point per possession in half of their games while LSU has scored over 1 point per possession in all but one of theirs.
LSU should be able to win this game, however, UL-Monroe does play some tall guards. The warhawks play 7 players over 6'6". I would guess LSU to be about a 16 point favorite in the game, and any win over 20 points would be a very good showing.
Coach Jones said Jarell Martin is still not 100% but has given hard minutes. Jordan Mickey has continued to impress everyone and was even in a recent mock draft graded as a mid second rounder (Along with JOB and Martin). O'Bryant looks to continue his success scoring and rebound while limiting his turnovers. Decreasing his turnovers should be his top priority.
Prediction:
LSU 85, ULM 60

I miss the old days when the Tiger Girls wore skin-tight pants or shorts

They switch it up pretty regularly.... I'm sure I'll get some solid one's of them wearing "cuter" outfits.

Any idea what our practice schedule has looked like during the break?

I think it was still pretty regular. I know coach said it was hard to keep everyone's concentration with such a long break, but that they were all getting good studying in. I'm assuming they still had daily practice. But Im not 100%.

It would give them a lot of time to gel.

Some more good basketball news; supposedly decreased the tradition fund required donation for basketball season tickets for next season. Yippee.

They're probably gonna look pretty sloppy tomorrow.

I'm just hoping that we take care of the ball tomorrow night. No turnovers or silly walking calls. Hopefully, O'Bryant has improved on passing out of double teams. He'll be doing that a lot this season.

Hope we can take care of Louisiana and get the W

Nice. I ended up getting two this year in a non-Tradition Fund area. Kind of regretting not just getting 1 in an area with donation required. I think I'll look into that next year.

could be one of those games with lots of turnovers and fouls but we still just out talent the other team by about 15. ul-m actually held their own against kansas for a while on the road but i think we'll be ok. shake off the rust ahead of the tech trip
