they simply aren't going to pay Nick Saban the kind of money it would take to price out Alabama.

They may not have to do this if Saban is egotistical enough to want to have one more championship run with a team. Never know what someone is thinking or what their reasoning might be.

Terry Saban. She's learned from the best.

If they want the man then they will have to pay.

I didn't say they wouldn't. I said they wouldn't have to "outbid" Bama up to 30 million bucks. I realize he was exaggerating. I just told you 2 posts ago they can pay him as much as they want to. I realize they will have to pay him over 6 million a year to get him. But Bama could do that as well.

So Saban wants a new challenge of rebuilding a program that doesn't need to be rebuilt? Got it.

I live in Austin too. Also, Auburn looked terrible last year and they turned it around fairly quickly.

They have been sleep walking through tired leadership. Nick has the power to resurrect UT in a hurry. They have a great running game already. He won't have to worry about that do doo McCoy kid anymore. Swoopes can be taught to manage a game. The Lakeway house that was allegedly closed on yesterday.

This thing is a done deal. (It may not be a done deal)

how many coaches choose to leave the best program in the country to take on a rebuilding job in their 60's?

it would be like Skip Bertman leaving LSU in 1998

Was there a possibility USC would pay Bertman 2x what he was currently making?

It's Saban or bust. Why get rid of Macky now unless they knew they had a home run hit waiting in the wings?

Because Art Briles, Shaw, Jimbo and others would qualify as a "home run." But why get rid of Mack? He's hit a wall with the program and not taking it anywhere. Time for a change regardless of who they get.

The one glaring fact about Saban being 62 is he owes a shite pile of money for the Perkins Rowe debacle and if UT is really going to offer to pay that off and 8.3 Mil a year he would be stupid not to do it

know we love having fun with this Saban stuff but there really is no logical reasoning that would cause Saban to leave Alabama. So lets talk realistically.

That is just delusional thinking. If you don't think Saban to Texas could and has a very real chance of happening you are fooling yourself.

Hear that everyone? All questions on the subject of UT should be referred to DS, because he lives in Austin.
