If you were to put something like this together, what would you include? All items must be able to travel easily.
So far I have Crystal, Slap Ya Mama, a dry Jambalaya mix, and Cafe du Monde beignets mix
looking for a few more items

Bergeron pecans or these candied pecans (can't remember the brand) that they have at the local produce market. Lots of good local jellies and other local stuff found at produce markets like Southside Produce or Fresh Pickins in BR.

Is this gift for a displaced Louisiana native, or someone you are sharing the flavors of Louisiana with?

Some crab/crawfish boil then, since he/she probably knows what to do with it.

Biggest complaint I hear from far away folks is the lack of quality of smoked sausage outside of LA.

Hit the Blue Runner shelf. A couple cans each of the creole cream style beans would be good.

We moved to the Jackson, MS area about 6 months ago. I've never seen my wife more furious than her first trip to Kroger when the butcher didn't know what Tasso was, much less keep it in stock.

I'm in Brandon too and I make a trip to BR to stock up on food items at least once a month because stuff we are used to in Louisiana seems hard to come by around here.

I don't know, I would imagine you could ship it UPS or something, there are a lot of meat markets that ship.
