Which Ford Diesel?

I am going to buy a new (to me) truck. I have been shopping for a Ford Diesel. I don't have a whole lot of money to spend, so I won't be getting the new 6.7. So, I'm trying to decide between the 7.3 6.0 and 6.4. Anybody have some good advice for me on which one to choose? TIA

7.3 and the others shouldn't even be considered. Myself it'd be a Cummins

Every Ford diesel previous to the 6.7 is a crapshoot if not a downright mistake.
We'll get some folks chiming about how with this mod or that mod they can be made reliable, but I ain't a believer.
if you aren't buying the 6.7, go Duramax.

7.3 or better yet if you can find an old good one, a 6.9

I had the 6.4, never again. If I were to do it again... I'd look harder to find the "right" 7.3

If you go 7.3, look at excursions too

All 7.3s you are gonna find will be beat to hell. Trust me, you don't want a 6.0 or a 6.4 if you are tight on cash. To date, I have an extra $20k in my 6.4 and it still isn't running

2. 6.0 if certain reliability modifications are made
3. 6.7
4. 6.4 is a wildcard... as of now they are having longevity problems, even when not modded/chipped ...ford dealers are now stocking long blocks due to this issue.
