re: .30-30 Winchester. Why so unpopular now?

Yeah, pretty sure any place that has enough 9mm to stock on the shelves is going to give it as much shelf space as they can. Most big ammo makers are sidelining certain calibers and loads to increase production of what the market is demanding right now. Even certain 30-06 loads that I'm looking for are not being produced right now. But Academy had a pallet's worth of 30-30 in the aisle when everything else was sold out 6 months back.
