it could be managed with smart people in charge.
sadly, I don't think these people exist currently.

less binge drinking would happen and higher attendance would occur, thus buying more food and raising more funds.

yep, 2009.
this is the quote from Vincent in 2010 that I linked in the other thread...
quote:
LSU Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications and Senior Associate Athletic Director, Herb Vincent said that is not the case, and it is actually the Southeastern Conference that does not permit the sale of alcoholic beverages during sporting events.
"The SEC does not permit the sale of alcoholic beverages at athletic events except in private, controlled areas," Vincent said

They would have to update the restroom capabilities before they started selling beer.
Would have to build a Drunk Tank first...

fans still think it's an SEC/NCAA rule
Well technically it is kind of an SEC Bible Belt rule since no schools sell it.

Tulane, UL-L... both Louisiana Schools that allow Alcohol at their games.
How are these fans handling alcohol consumption and LSU fans can't?

you linked Vincent from 09 as proof of no rule, I linked him from 10 saying there is a rule...
I have no idea if there's rule, or not, but there are quite a few articles over the last couple of years, including one from Bama's campus paper from this August citing an SEC rule.

In fairness, no one has been to a Tulane game to test this out.

There is no SEC rule. He's stated as much. I think in 2010, he kind of backtracked a little bit.

I would hardly call this "backtracking a little bit"

so what about the SEC championship game?
that disproves that theory.

It's stupid f'n religious rule that LSU needs to drop.
Making the game time experience for the fan only takes a few tweaks.
1.) Sell beer.
2.) No day games in September or October, period. Too hot.
3.) Install wifi.
4.) Stop the piped in music and let the band play.
So easy. So simple.

It's already against the law in most states to sell booze to a person who is obviously drunk.
Posted on 10/13/13 at 7:30 pm to TheDoc
easy to read between the lines
when the first SEC school decides to sell beer, most will fall in line.

also, if they sold beer into the 3rd quarter, it would cut down on the fans leaving at halftime.
