Even if he keeps up the pace (which I doubt) the Saints could run into a situation where they sit people depending on the race for home field.

Against the Bears, the Saints threw on 30 of the 37 snaps for which Graham was in the game. The Saints ran on 26 of the 38 snaps Watson played. Is it any wonder the Saints struggle to run the ball? Lance Briggs had three TFLs where he basically 'read the mail' and busted through the blocking before anyone had a chance because he KNEW exactly what was coming.
Something isn't right with your numbers. Watson played 44 snaps and Graham played 36. We were up the entire game, so we probably gave Graham breaks on non-passing downs in the 4th. It was Graham's lowest snap % of the year by far
Also, 1 game is a terrible sample size. We've struggled to run the ball because the interior line play has been bad. Same problem with protection this season.

What's scary is he makes Watson (who is 6'3" 250ish) look small.

I will agree and disagree. From how he has played this year (yards and receptions)he has been more of a WR. His weight and speed will keep him from getting a WR contract. Could they use him as a WR...of course but it would not make a difference to his catches, yards, or TD's. But they do need to pay the man!

Did you see sounds of the game during halftime of MNF? Ben was giving Jimmy shite for not being able to block. Was funny
Was just about to ask if anyone else saw this shite. I was dying laughing. Jimmy was like "why you coming at me like that"? Awesome.

I'm gonna go ahead and expect this not to happen... It's week 5 for crying out loud.
I'm all for signing Graham long term but franchise tagging as a TE is completely understandable given the cap situation. It's also the only leverage the Saints have to get a deal done sooner rather than later. 5 year/$52 million is my expectation.

Shoutout to Ben Watson btw. Dude is a great fit with us as the TE2. Classic hard worker who can do anything we ask at the position. I've loved watching him play this season.

I've been saying "what about his blocking?" every time and no one cares.

I say pay him and play him as a WR
So take the gameplan that creates huge mismatches and has him on pace to be one of the greatest tight ends ever and change it to playing him at wide receiver where he will surely draw the top corner. That is coaching genious. How are you not an NFL coach by now?
