The Truth is simple. $abun pushes those kids to the brink. They don't listen to him he simply benches them or worse discards them.
Its perform or else.
When those guys get in the NFL and are paid professionals they are expected to act like it, which includes self motivation. At the NFL level they lack that motivation because $abun is not there forcing it out of them.

quote:Don't see these great Offensive Linemen doing so wonderfully, either. It slows their development when the threat of a Holding call against them in SEC officiated games is nil.
“One thing we’ve got to remember is that (Saban) always has great offensive lines, and that helps his backs,”

All part of "the process". While we all get aggravated at times with Les for spreading the carries around (sometimes inexplicably), it leaves them with much lower mileage for the next level. So a Ridley or Addai end up having better pro careers than the midget's backs, even though they didn't get nearly the press in college.

This...and his backs are punished everyday, probably more than at most other programs, during practice. i gather his practices are brutal.
