ESPN - 3

The Saints' defense has held all three opponents this season to 17 points or fewer. New Orleans allowed 17 points or fewer in three games all last season.
NFL - 4

Here's a fun football question: How many wins is Sean Payton worth in a season? Three? Seriously, hit me up @Harrison_NFL; I'm curious to see if you think I'm overreacting.
Payton doesn't coach the defense, but that unit sure is interested in playing for him and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Next up: Hosting the 3-0 Dolphins on Monday night.
Fox - 6
LINK
quote:
The Saints are the fifth best scoring defense in the NFL right now, giving up just 12.5 points per game. But its not like the Bucs or Cardinals are extremely dangerous offenses. Let's see how they stack up against Miami, Chicago and New England the next
CBS - 4
LINK
quote:
Rob Ryan continues to impress with very little to work with, and Jimmy Graham is unstoppable.
USA Today - 3
LINK
quote:
Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan might be making a bigger impact than coach Sean Payton.
Yahoo - 3
LINK
quote:
I still expect the defense to come back to earth. But until that happens, they have to hold a very high spot in these rankings. The offense is as good as ever.
SB Nation - 5
LINK
quote:
Only two teams in the NFC have allowed fewer points than the Saints. Not bad for a defense that was supposed be an afterthought this season. How long can they keep this up?
PFT - 4
LINK
quote:
When the Dolphins come to town next week, they should get the key to the city for not offering Drew Brees a contract in 2006.

You're a joke!
Some people like to read them, get an idea of what people are saying and how others may view the team. Don't click on the thread if you don't want to read it, frick face. I have in the title what it is, just avoid it.

Screw this guy. He's gonna learn Monday that we're the truth

That's a really weird quote. The offense started to look like their usual self in the 2nd half last game, but outside of that they have been slightly above average, if that. I expect them to get it going, but they definitely haven't yet. The defense looks legit, mainly because of the defensive line, which we could make an argument for as one of the best in the NFL.

I think clearly the guy hasn't watched the games.

I'm not a power rankings guy, but these are fun when the Saints are good.

This is what gets me
Not like new england played against world beaters either. buffalo? hah, jets? please, and tb? we played the same game, cept they had it at home and we went away. but yet, NE is 3rd.

And they're also saying we'll see how they are against Miami but if you look at their ranking (from the thread the other day), their offense is ranked 26th. So what'll be the excuse next week?

Power Rankings are subjective, but they are fun. And the nice thing about the NFL is that they don't really matter, so whether you like them or not they don't mean sh*t, unlike college where subjective rankings are more important than they should be.

It means nothing.
It's made up by the media.
Talk about something real like the standings.

The Saints played very good football and dominated the Cardinals this last week, but a big turning point will be when they face the undefeated Dolphins on the national stage. The defensive front has looked solid in the first three weeks and the pass offense rebounded after a disappointing outing in Tampa.
