Great topic!
I share similar feelings on the subject. Georgia and Alabama have been great road trips over the years, and their fans have always provided a great atmosphere.
Our history of issues with Auburn also play a part for me, but their recent lack of competitiveness has cooled the rivalry. Fayetteville was a nice trip last year, but without Petrino, this game loses some of its luster.
The new Arkansas on the schedule will be the old Ole Miss returning. This rivalry looks to regain traction. Even though this game is always close, the next few times we play, an Ole Miss win will be less of an upset than in years past.
We've won both times I've been to Gainesville, and aside from the game itself, the experience doesn't really stand out. The Swamp at night can compete with Death Valley, though, IMO.
I must admit that strong feelings for our conference have always been present for me, and they still remain. They're just against it now. I will forever be loyal to my university, but I pull against every other team.
When this year's schedule was released, it was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Having known some of our administration for some time now, I questioned the fairness of determining champions in our conference. And the reply was, "It's a business."
I took time to pause and reflect on many years of travel within our conference to the tune of six figures worth. And I've decided that my support for this conference will only extend to LSU. I cancelled my travel for 3 away games this season.
I'm at peace with my decision. The sooner I figured out that our conference doesn't give a damn about LSU, and that our administration isn't going to rock the boat at the expense of its own income, the happier I became.
So, in conclusion, I hate the conference, and only wish success for LSU. It was not an easy process, after years of toeing the company line.

Sounds like you have some stories to tell!
I can understand how you could feel that way. I hope, though, that one day something happens and you feel good enough to travel again. For me, the trips can sometimes be more fun than the game itself. But, it sounds as if you've been there and back, so maybe the trip is not even worth it anymore.
