And did you get a compression test done?
Redmonds is doing it now. This engine is clean as hell and ran with no problems. I have no doubt it will pass.

I don't have a boat. I have to envy your boat with cracked hull.
I'm sure someone in your shop has some fiberglass skills...

That may be the nicest 10 year old outboard I've ever seen.

I know, right? I'd eat off it. Not to worry, I'll frick it up in a matter of weeks.

Got the boat out of the shop. No pics yet. Total cost of motor swap, trailer swap and a few electrical items was $2300. This included the binnacle controls, new fuel lines, steering swap and other bullshite in order to get it done.
Still beat the cost of a new engine.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal. You gonna be down this weekend?

I would also include the cost of changing the shifter and the throttle cable while you at it.
Yep. the shifter on the donor boat is a side shifter. I'd need a binnacle shifter.

You can also cut cost by offering the old motor to the person change out the outboard.
I had considered this.
motorboat, I just had this done. $1500
took them way longer than they thought. had to get a new binnacle and new cables.

Redmond's was about as fast as I expected. 3 weeks. I'm at the intracoastal about to run it.
