Reading comprehension not your strong suit, huh?

Fournette and Mcgee will be a deadly combination next year. No Fournette will spell bad news for the Tigers.

Not to mention that there is a good chance that all hill, Hilliard, and blue wont be back next year.
And playing RB is brutal. It wouldn't be shocking if one of the 3 misses time with an injury, even if it's a minor one.

I can't believe some of you are blindly falling in line with the title of the post. Read the article yourself. The OP clearly misunderstood the article. If the writer implied anything it was for McGee to hang around until his time comes.
what did the writer mean here?

in reality, attrition might be the best avenue for Magee

Another point: I wouldn't be surprised to see Hilliard get a lot of looks at the FB position as well with either of the other 3 tailbacks dotting the I.
All of the backs will split carries this year just like any other. We would expect that Blue/Hill will probably get the bulk but you never know how the RB position will shake out. The hot hand usually gets the ball.

Attrition- a reduction in numbers usually as a result of resignation, retirement etc.
The writer meant that as other running backs ahead of McGee leave the program (by graduation, NFL, injury or expulsion) he may have an opportunity to play more.

Not really.

Um he is definitely telling him to transfer.

Attrition means reduction of numbers. The writer clearly suggest Magee best chance is to not be on the team. No surprise though, Matthew Harris is a moron.

He meant that Magee won't see as much playing time with the return of Hill. It'll take a suspension or injury for Magee to get more playing time this year. Or he'll have to wait till next year when Blue graduates and Hiill/Hilliard leaves early. That's what attrition means.
Nowhere was transfer mentioned or implied.

No. The guy didn't say attrition at the position would be the best chance for Magee to get carries. He straight up said attrition would be his best avenue, meaning no longer on the team.

This. Other people leaving is not an "avenue" magee can take. Unless, of course, he is suggesting sabatoge.

I shouldn't be surprised people don't know the meaning of attrition on this board. If he meant transfer, he would have typed it.

Please define attrition for me?
And explain how attrition being an "avenue" for Magee means anything other than no longer on the team.

He did not straight up say this. The note in general is exploring Magee's situation. Leaving MIGHT be his best option, or MAYBE his stint as a receiver might create opportunity in an offense that may actually involve the rbs in the passing game.
Saying that the writer is telling him, advising him or advocating him to leave is absurd.
