Okay. What should I buy then? I have a lot of grass to cut but don't want one too big because I do have to get into some smaller spaces.

Buy a lower end Hustler or Bad Boy (kind of a mix of commerical and residential)..they have 42" and 48" cuts, and you would be looking at about 3000-3500.

I hear Toro makes a decent residential mower.

I would go with a 42" or 48" Commercial grade mower if I were buying one today. I have a SnapperPRO 48" and it's great. I'm sure ExMark, Ferris, and other brands have a 42"/48" model as well.
