I never played Ico but everything I've ever heard is that it's supposed to be great. Shadow of the Colossus is the most visually stunning hardest to beat (next to Contra) game of all time. It and Heavy Rain are the two most beautiful games of all time and one of them was released in 2005. I couldn't imagine how it would look with modern graphics in 1080p. The whole game was boss fights. Just incredible.

I love it but I think Ico is one of those games that most people who play it today for the first time might think, "What's the big deal?"
It's essentially a 3rd person puzzle/platformer with a beautiful art style, music, and story which is mostly told through subtext.
If I had to compare it to one thing, I'd say it's similar to one of the 3d Prince of Persia games, but with more simplified combat and puzzles.
Shadow of the Colossus shares the same art style, also has beautiful music, and a really interesting story. It's more centered around finding and fighting giant, well...colossi in a big, mostly desolate, open world.
Ico is a good game and Shadow is GREAT but I think what I like most about them both are their atmosphere and mood.
ETA: You probably have it on your wishlist, but you should pick this up: LINK
