Where will he be playing this fall now?

From what I understand he is not eligible unless he moves. I don't know enough about the family and this situation, but I know his younger brother is still at St Pauls.

Edna Karr in week 1.

Edna Karr and teams like them simply don't have the resources for a legitimate off-season program. St Pauls has won that game every year because they are in better shape at that time of year. I still see them having the advantage over Karr week 1.

I didn't realize it was one of those situations.

The father McClesky works the Mandeville area for kids. Obviously he is not as good at it as Magic. So younger McClesky "needs" to be on the field.

Joe Dickens can fix on the offensive line (who, IMO, is as good an OL coach you can get in the HS level).

Totally agree.

I agree with you that he will eventually be the starter.

It really is a tough spot for Coach Sears. His kid is better but if he starts him as a sophomore there will be parents saying he is playing favorites. So he is probably going to give the other kid the chance first. The other kid's arm is just not good. But if they start 0-2 (Karr and Jesuit) then he will probably go with his son.

Do you know which program they are using now?

I heard they are going with Jesse Kellum.

the thing i hate most about the regular season and the split... St. Paul's can go 0-2 in those first two games and even 0-10 and still be guaranteed a state playoff game by just putting 11 kids out there

now yeah HS kids aren't really wired like that, they'll play hard bc it's HS football, but they know what's going on. (and the larger nonselect classes don't get that luxury)

It will take a gargantuan effort for St. Paul's to beat Karr this year. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Karr's roster for 2013, but it could quite possibly be the most talented team in the country. That is not an exaggeration, either.

Wasn't aware of this.. St. Paul's is a harder sell to the Mandeville kids (that weren't planning on going to SPS to begin with). Not only is Mandeville a great football program with a great coaching staff, but it is also one of the best public schools in the state.

I think you're spot on with this.

I hope Kellum has taken a more olympic, explosive-style approach to his training regimen, at least for training the football team. Powerlifting isn't the best lifting style for football training.
