What did you expect him to do? There is no lesser charge he could have pleaded down to. Pleading guilty is probably better because it shows he is accepting responsibility for his actions.

My guess is the judge told him plead guilty and I will extend your probation. His lawyer wouldnt have him plead guilty without at least knowing what would probably happen. IMO.
