Dimensions at TD

First of all, I do understand this isn't the only reason we lost the game, but who decided to make TD Ameritrade a much bigger park than most others? 99% of D1 schools this year were playing in smaller parks, so why did the dimensions have to be changed farther? This gives an automatic advantage to teams who can't hit homers in a smaller park, much less TD park. We would've had 2, maybe 3 more homers tonight if game was at the box. What if in the BCS national championship they decided to narrow the field to cater to more defensive teams? That doesn't seem fair to a widespread passing attack who played that way the whole year

I guess teams could build their stadiums to have a bigger field to prepare for the big show then. I don't have an answer

It's not the fields fault we lost. You sound like a women.

What if a team that has a big park gets to Omaha and has to play in a small park? Is that fair to them? Quit whining about the park.

Fields too big, Katz hits home run...

But why do all teams have to prepare the whole year to their teams strengths and then have to change it totally for an 8 team tourney?

It's not really that much bigger, but being where the wind blows in most of time doesn't help.
Not saying this particular game but look at the stats. I was never a fan of the games like the 21-14 final in 1998 but I think they have gone too far in the other direction now.
In 2009 45+ home runs in the series. In 2011 and 2012 combined there were 19. First time since 1972 there was not a home run in the first 3 games.
There has to be a middle ground somewhere, not specifically talking about this game but overall in college ball.

Still cracked a HR... and it's only 5' deeper. Hoover is still larger.

It's not like we have a team full of home run hitters.

Cause just like MLB they think less run scoring is exciting to watch. Like watching a 6-3 football game or a 67-60 basketball game.

Field size has nothing to do with why LSU lost.

Ticket Exchange and Money Talk are shallow down the lines.
The Money board and Gaming Board are pretty shallow in the alleys.
TD then juts out and the Rant and the OT are deep and massive.

Yeah but much more of a HR team than UCLA and the field played to UCLA's advantage

Indiana has more homers than any other team in tournament. We hit the only homer in the first round. We hit too many popups and UCLA always got their lead off batter on. We are lucky the score was not worst. Their situational hitting was worst than us.

The park is the SAME dimensions as Rosenblatt. The ball just doesn't carry in TD Ameritrade and the wind doesn't blow out. It blows in if anything.

Because the people who paid to build the field and host the tournament wanted it that way. Doesn't matter why. Maybe they like small ball. Or maybe they like a bigger field with more seats they can sell.
Both teams play on the same field, deal with it.
