Anyone Use An Inflatable Kayak?

Anyone have any experience using an inflatable kayak? I've recently downsized vehicles making it difficult to transport my traditional kayak on lengthy trips. Is this worth looking into buying?

I'm going to get a packraft for my next outdoor purchase. Not quite the traditional yak, but people run rivers in them, some class 4-5 rapids.

Another Yak thread?
Inflatable Yak looks like a bad idea to me.
Hey Broke--Does my use of the word "yak" bother you?

Up front it looks like a good idea, but you will never be able to get back down to the size it was packaged brand new, unless you have a vacuum pump.
Another thing to consider is what if you puncture it on a stob while you are out. Unless the material is made of is military grade, I don't think I would chance it.

The main objective of this thread was to question its durability.
My children have a half-sized spacewalk at home. I'm well aware of this fact.

I've used an inflatable kayak (a/k/a "duck") in whitewater several times. Never seen one as fancy as the pic you posted. Would never fish out of one, however, because fishing involves hooks and whiskers and other things that could put a hole in a duck.

Basspro sells modular kayaks. You buy the front, middle and rear sections separately. For one person all you need is the front and back sections which will run you $450.
Point 65º N® Apollo Sit-On-Top Modular Kayak
But I would just get a 10' SOT like the Ascend D10T. My buddy fished for years out of an old 10' Pelican sit-in that he strapped to his mini cooper. If he can carry it to Venice from BR on a mini, I'm sure you would be fine with a 10' yak strapped to whatever vehicle you're in now.

picture paddling over oyster shells in an inflatable yak. hooks, catfish spines, knives, etc all can puncture. I just do not see that as an option.

Without the middle you would fall right through.

What type of vehicle did you go from and to?
I've seen some 14+ feet long kayaks on honda civic sized cars. Unless you went to a moped, you should be able to just buy a new rack system that will make it work safely.

We have an inflatable canoe we've used in Arkansas on trips through rocks & such & haven't any problems with holes. Just need to check what kinda material it's made of. Also stay out of gator holes
