Regarding LSU Fans from Tex Ags
LINK
quote:
The reason they owned us is because they outnumbered us in GA. Any parts of the park where people are willing/allowed to yell, purple and gold ruled out. It's hard to bang on the bleachers to drown them out when the majority of the people have their backs against the bleachers muffling it because they are yelling for the other team.
Today's game legitimately ticked me off more than any I've experienced in the past four years. As I've gotten older, I've become a lot better at not getting overly negative, but today pissed me off.
What pisses me off the most, and it really is no contest, is the fact that LSU fans came from Louisiana to College Station and owned the weekend.
Thursday night they were about the same volume overall. Friday about the same, but maybe they were a little louder. Saturday early morning I wasn't there because I graduated at nine, but when I showed up, the section in which I've sat for the past four years had LSU fans from the first row all the way to the top. And they had their way with us this game.
It's embarrassing when people come in and flip your home field advantage. We've talked big game in the past for going to Baylor and always having more fans than them, but these people came from Louisiana. If you're an LSU fan, you should be proud of the way you traveled. If you're an Aggie fan, you should be embarrassed, because today was absolutely pathetic.

The LSU noise was impressive today. Just saying. Sounded like the game was Baton Rouge.
quote:
LSU ran a clinic on fan participation that the entire groups of Ags, including (and maybe especially) the older alumni in the reserved seats who seem to just sit at the game with casual interest, need to follow.

LSU owned us. Not cool.

Granted, there were lots of LSU fans there, but when they started the L...S....U chant you forgot we were the home team.

I would be the majority of those fans were from Houston area.
You had your normal traveling crew but Houston area fans bought those tickets months ago

There would have been more but there were no hotels to be had.

I agree. I know 3 or 4 groups of friends from Houston that made their way over for the saturday "DH"

They should be embarrassed. That couldn't have looked/sounded worse for them on national TV.

When we went ahead in the 8th, I thought I was watching a home game at the Box.

I kept getting confused listening to the games on the radio, the LSU fans were so loud. Almost every time LSU got a hit, I thought it was a double play judging by the fan reaction. But no, it was the Tiger fans roaring for a hit/score.
It sounded like Omaha.

I'll never understand how announcers on television can say things like, "Look at all the LSU fans that made the X hour drive here all the way from Baton Rouge."
When LSU plays in Athens, it's mostly LSU fans from Atlanta that make the games. When LSU plays in College Station, it's mostly fans from Houston or Dallas that go to the games. While there are a few that travel from Baton Rouge, most of the visiting crowd, especially for baseball, are fans that use this for their one opportunity to see the Tigers in person.

When our fans started the L-S-U chant, it definitely moved.
Props to our fans that went and represented.

Tex100 - What works against the KStates isn't what will work for the SEC, particularly LSU. There will always be lots of LSU fans at College Station events. Houston has more LSU alumni than New Orleans

They are right. We were even heckling their right fielder.

We were at The Friday night game. We live in Katy and most of the Tiger fans we talked to came from either the Houston area, Waco, or San Antonio. There were many Geaux Tiger, L-S-U, and Here We Geaux Tiger chants.

I love the fact that I get to go just down the road and cheer on my Tigers! Game 3 was awesome and it felt like we were the home team!

So it seems the aggies were impressed with our LSU fans' coordinated cheering, as in LSU LSU LSU or Geaux Tigers. I assume everyone here knows that it is Chris Guilliot who is leading those cheers, the same CG that everyone here mocks & knocks. It impressed the ESPN announcers, too. Nice job, Tiger fans from where ever you were from.
