Ingram faced 8 man box 25.6% of the time last year, good for 8th in the NFL

Interesting. It's like they knew he was in to run the ball...
For comparison, Pierre Thomas was 36th in the league with 12.38% being his number.

easy there, this board doesn't like facts or statistics, especially when it doesn't support their irrational hate.

PFF had a tweet yesterday saying PT and Peterson were the only two in the NFL with a higher YPC against 8 men in the box than they did 7.

Ingram was by far the best Bama cheerleader last year.

i have always contended that the Saints telkegraph its a running play when Ingram is in the game.
When Pierre or Sproles are in, its more than likely a passing play. So when they do run its not with a loaded box.
Ingrams in? Load it up.
Playcalling has a lot to do with Ingrams struggles.

Because no one respects our passing game.

Yea the playcalling put him beind the 8-ball. I'd bet he ran the ball 95% of the plays he was in there, and NFL coaches and defenses don't have to be too smart to figure that trend out.

Because he's turrible

So teams stack the box against him because he's a terrible back...

The first half of his rookie season was pretty annoyingly obvious. If he was in, they were running it. I still have no idea why he was penned as our short yardage or "bruiser" back. While he can absolutely run between the tackles, he's more nimble than you realize. Payton started to figure it out down the stretch and I remember Ingram really busting out in that home Giants game, but then he got injured.
And then last year it seems like they went right back to predictable playcalling. From a few recent comments, it seems like the ground game will have a renewed focus. Thankfully, Bc this team is really at its best when we run it down the opponents throats.

He's not a very good receiver out of the backfield and he's subpar in pass protection so they knew to stack the box when he was in because he's not an option in the passing game. I do like how this caused teams to bite hard on play action when we started noticing this trend toward the end of the season though

ah, the premium stats
I thought I saw another one showing how much the Saints throw it when Sproles is in the game...
it was a pretty high percentage.

Yeah, the playcalling is terrible. Because they're calling a play for him instead of just about anyone else.
Gotta love how Bama people don't give a shite about life at all but will spend all day on the internet knighting for some Bama dude.
