He struck out 12 tonight and is now 10-0 on the season.

Haven't seen him as a potential draft risk

I have friends that know his brother and everything I've heard suggests he'll be in purple and gold next year.

Doesn't hurt our chances...
Has money and his family obviously values A LOT of education.

He signed as a pitcher, but he wield a good lefthanded bat.
big, strong kid, throws about 89. Nice change, needs work on the curve ball but he can throw it pretty good on occasion.

Damn i live in Gramercy, wish I would have seen this kid play. If his dad and uncle are the ones who run and own the clinic than I'm willing to bet he's a great kid also. Very nice guys and, hands down, the friendliest doctors I have ever met.

He doesn't bat left handed.

No, he uses a lefthanded bat!!!!

He wasn't throwing 89 yesterday. You could tell he had some life in his fastball, but I bet it say mid 80s yesterday. Has he been used a lot this year? Pretty nice curve too, though he spun it a little too much. Good looking athlete for sure.

Poche hit 90mph at a perfect game event in August of last year
Is he related to Colin Poche at Arkansas?

Clocked between 86-88 yesterday.

No he's not related to Colin Poche from Arky. I live and Gramercy and know the family. He's a big strong kid with really good stuff. Hits the shite out of the ball on top of being a stud on the mound. He just struck out 12 yesterday in a playoff game win 14-2. Current LSU pitcher Joey Bourgeois also went to Lutcher, and well as the pitcher from SELU that threw a no hitter a while back, Jordan Hymel. Lutcher has been breading pitchers for the last few years. Another stud on the staff this year is Corey Merill, he signed with SELU.
As far as an outlook on Jared, he's a got a little work to do with his breaking ball, it tends to get away from him at times, but when it's on, it's nasty. Solid mechanics and a strong arm. He's really good at working himself out of jams and can pull off wins even when he doesn't give his best performance. Rarely pitches and doesn't go all 7. His pick off move is actually one of the best i've seen, personally, from a left handed pitcher. All in all, he may need a year or two under his belt before he makes an impact, but with a little work he'll be a stud for LSU.

There is someone on this board that should be able to give a definitive answer to this question.

So should we expect him to be a lefty specialist or short relief guy at LSU?

I think that all depends on how he develops. He definitely has the potential to be a started but I think he'd have to add a few more MPHs on the fast ball and get a little better control with the curve. It's hard to say what Maneri does with him once he's there though.

Someone did. They said he was not related.

He's not the person I was referring to.
