It's a pretty damn objective one. I'd say how many players get dismissed if we're talking LSU b/c Les actually gets rid of guys. Other coaches not so much.
Les has the hardest arse out of all the coaches in the sec.

Can the OP add Petrino and his former piggies to the mix?

The thread speaks to arrests, i.e. legal problems, by LSU players in comparison to other SEC schools.
HB was not a LSU player when he had his legal problems.
What you need to do if you want to include the HB, is to start your own thread discussing LSU students and their legal problems or X LSU players and their legal problems once they were no longer on the team.

Thanks for posting this thread. Really puts things in perspective. More could be done to keep players in check. Why isn't this happening? Why isn't there a curfew for teams? You play on a team, you don't frequent watering holes. Gimme a break!

Brad wing?
Terrance Toliver, March 2010?
T-Bob?
Not reading 12 pages, but limiting the time span is convenient
RP?
Shawn Jordan?
Shomari Clemons?
Derrick Odom?
Kyle Anderson?
Troy Giddens?
Zhmal Thomas?
Chase Pittman?

He already mentioned them.
It's 3 years. That's long enough. Almost an entire season for many football players that were recently at LSU.

There is.

So you think the coaches should be babysitters for 120+ 18-20 year old kids now? Hmmm.

Indeed.

If you play for a team at this level, you follow certain rules. Should the coaches be the babysitters? Are you daft? No, the players follow the rules or they're gone. The coaches do their jobs. The players do theirs. Duh! Is it really that difficult?!

Really? I can only think of 1 player in the last 3 years that was kicked off the team for multiple infractions.

From what I just stated above, seems like that's the case.

Seems that way for some posters.

Okay, pal. Whatever. I'm pissed that some of our football players aren't towing the line better and behaving. You're giving me grief about my opinion. See ya and have a nice evening.

I'm not at all. I respect everyone's right to their opinion but coming in here screaming that the coaches aren't doing their job and that the players are out of control isn't true.
Am I condoning what Hill did? Absolutely not but I'm not going to call him an idiot and a thug and a bunch of other senseless jargon before the details surface.
Yes, I think the players shouldn't take their positions on the team for granted. No doubt.
Get over it. It's over and done and we have to wait and see what happens.
You're a bit worked up over details none of us know anything about, at this point.
That's all I was trying to point out. Wasn't trying to be disrespectful.

Then you'd have to go back and add those years to the other teams too. I'm sure the results would be the same. Hell just look at urban he'd have a player arrested and they would play against LSU the next week. I can remember one for car theft and one for selling grass off the top of my head. The grass guy did have to sit out the rent a win game before LSU.
The only way to stop legal issues is by locking the team up in a concentration camp, with personal guards. I'm sure we would get lots of recruits then! A bit of persepective would help too. This is a glorified chilren's PE game. If you really look at the game as a whole and society it's all pretty silly.
This is more an issue of personal responsibility. You also need to look at normal behavior for a group of 100 , 18-24 yr old men.

Found this data. It's a little old but probably still close to current rates... LINK
FBI 2001 arrest rates per 100,000 male inhabitants
Age Total
18 4,880.9
19 4,267.8
20 3,542.5
21 3,189.5
22 2,787.7
Quick math gives expected arrest rates for 100 of each age of
18 = 4.88
19 = 4.27
20 = 3.54
21 = 3.19
22 = 2.79
If you take 20 of each age to compare against a football team of 100 males age 18-22, that would give a rate of
(4.88 + 4.27 + 3.54 + 3.19 + 2.79) / 5
for a total rate of 18.67 / 5
= 3.76 per 100 males age 18-22 (in 2001 only)
So the arrest rate over a 3 year period (2010-2013) would be 3 times greater or about
11.28 for the general population of 100 18-22 year old males.
Looks like Missouri, Arkansas, Florida, and Georgia are at or over that amount.
The teams with only a few are well below average for the general population of 18-22 year olds.

You can see the LSU haters from thread one making excuses and crying.
I always knew there were these alleged LSU fans but this thread makes them easy to point out.
Didn't go through all the pages but where's Vandy?
