Memento (I don't know, just bothered me - and then everyone loving it - such a claustraphobic movie that frankly - because of the style - didn't really care to the go back and follow the protagonist find out the story of the first five minutes.) But maybe hate is too strong.
Little Miss Sunshine - now this movie I hated. Hated. Everything about it.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding - why was this movie so critically loved? It's a pile crap. Maybe you have to be Greek to get the jokes?
Children of Men - sci-fi/futuristic version of Crash. Pandering, transparent and dumb.

It was what it was, in that day and time the mob ran everything and was treated like royalty. They were glamorous people to the commoner. You want him to rewrite history??

Because of the difference between Plissken and Michael? Or that there are no redeeming characters? Or because I called Kay Kate?
Wow and I suck because I have a poor opinion of one film? How open minded of you.
Because one of the reasons you don't like the movie is because you loathe bad people in movies. That's about the most pathetic reason I've ever heard (at least from a man) for not liking a movie

I liked it but not nearly as much as most people.

Someone mentioned Slumdog Millionaire. I agree with that one. That movie was horrible IMO.

Pretty much all Coen Brothers movies except for Raising Arizona and No Country For Old Men.
But that makes no sense...Fargo is like those two combined.
But then again, I'm a Coen homer...even loved Hudsucker. But Fargo? How can you hate Fargo?

This will piss some people off..
2001: of course it had style but I also thought it meandered to a point of losing the audience.
I don't hate it but it's not in my top 15 Sci/Fi films.

Fargo is the shite and it is very quotable.

So a bunch of board middle aged housewives could say they've seen an independent film.

There's a difference between complex characters who do bad things and characters who are basically detestable without significant redeeming quality. When the movie asks me to care about these people as protagonists, sorry, it won't happen. That makes the movie uninteresting at best to me.

I never said that though. I said that their are no redeeming characters, which means, there's no hero, no one to root for. Not that I don't like bad people in movies. Yeah I agree, that's dumb. A good villain, as a foil to a good hero, is great thing to watch.
Problem is, Godfather is full of villains, not heroes, and it glorifies that fact. Therefore, it's uninteresting.
I hope you realize my word choice of "dislike," is important. I never said it was a bad film, but you're reacting as if I did.

You do realize that there's a whole slew of old world male philosophers who would argue that art's imperative it to present us with moral good. That showing immorality is actually a bad thing. I actually tend to agree with them in theory, so yes, that is some of my beef with the film. But that goes to more overt problems like torture porn films and stuff. Less so for something like the Godfather.

The other big problem is that even if you take Michael as the protagonist, he has absolutely no real agency as a character. But that's the way I read it. He does not act on his own accord, which, again, makes him terribly uninteresting.
This is also a big argument for people, I know some will vehemently disagree, but I think there's a lot of evidence to support that claim. He's actually extremely weak willed when viewed through a particular lens, which is the exact opposite intention of the ending.

This whole thread is RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE.
No wonder Hollywood insists on making Some Dumb Movie Number 5.
People can't differentiate between a quality movie and garbage. Hollywood produces 95% garbage. Pure trash.

I actually like Godfather II much more than the original.
Can't stand any of that Lord of the Rings stuff or Harry Potter.
Love Fargo, btw.
