Toss up between Terrence Broadway and Tim Tebow.
I'd go with Tebow I guess

quote:Charlie Ward and Warrick Dunn was at SU vs Alcorn game with Doug Williams on the sideline, McNair's junior year. There was a interview where Ward said McNair was by far the greatest athlete and QB he had ever seen. This was during a time where the SWAC was producing top draft picks during the early 90's, especially on defense.

I'll throw a little love for Charlie Ward. one of the for runners of the modern dual threat QB's.

Newton in IMO. Tebow best career, but Newton was just dominant.

Bama was in a down year for their standards.
LSU was very good, but not as good as 11
Sorry, I worded it wrong.
I would argue you didn't just word it wrong. It is factually incorrect to say a conference that produced 5 top 15 teams was "down" because Bama didn't win the NC.
What does not as good as 11 mean? We were 11-2. At the end of the day you are what your record says. Our only loses were to top 12 teams on the road by 1 score each and we pounded a good Texas A&M team in the Cotton Bowl. It was a young team that was better the next year, but was still pretty good.
You statement about Bama sounds like something Bama fans would say and doesn't make much sense. They were legit NC contenders before losing to LSU, they were #1 to start the season. They had a 24 point lead on eventual NC Auburn before blowing it and then absolutley destroyed a 10 win Mich State team in a bowl. They didn't win the NC but they were still a very good team.

I never saw Air McNair in college, though he did play at Sam Houston State, 70 miles North of Houston, a co worker of mine was a SHSU grad and we talked about going but didn't.

I used think Frazier as well, but Nebraska was still an elite program after he left.

Good question...
I watch Tim Couch with no help around him slice and dice LSU

Who cares they destroyed teams without him when he was still on the team doesn't change a thing

In person I'd have to go with Scam Newton for all around QB.
Best Passer, I'd go with Rohan Davey.

The game where Kentucky ran a reverse to ice it?

LSU in 2010 wasn't near as good as 2011. That is obvious to everyone who watched the 2 teams play
Alabama was down. They were starting walk ons in their secondary. LSU and Bama in 2011 were much much better than 2010

As much as I hate to say it, Cam Newton.
After that, probably Michael Vick and Peyton Manning.
No way. Never feared him as a passer. He was a great running QB and occasionally he would have a good day throwing, but not in the realm of guys like Vick and Newton.

quote:This is my favorite part of an argument or discussion. What exactly has Cam Newton done to be called a bitch? Have you met him? I see you're a New Orleans Saints fan and I'll go ahead and assume you're an LSU Tigers fan as well. Hmm, maybe, just maybe, I see why you're calling him a bitch. Kind of weird considering all of his teammates at Auburn and in Carolina love him.
but Newtons hate is well deserved because the dude is a bitch.
quote:Yeah, who would've thought that a Rookie quarterback would tail off towards the end of a stellar year. Don't forget to mention that he had a shoulder injury, too.
He had a great start to his rookie season, and the second half was mediocre
quote:First half of the season, absolutely. But go ahead and look at his stats and team record from the last 6-7 games. He finished the season on a tear.
I called him having a sophomore slump, and I'd say he did
quote:Yeah, OK.
His threat as a runner is what makes him dangerous
quote:What the frick about him is "gimmick"? His running ability?
Gimmick bullshite only works for so long in the NFL, the consistent quarterbacks are passers, Newton isn't that.
quote:fricking awesome.
Lets also take into account that he hasn't been a winner in the NFL
Let's go ahead and take into account that he was drafted by a fricking 2-14 team. Go ahead and take into account that that team has also improved every year under Cam Newton. They even beat the New Orleans Saints twice last season, and the Atlanta Falcons once (should've been both time if the safety didn't derp on the deep ball).
quote:Yeah, that's an incredible reason for whatever argument you're trying to have.
He's been spoiled with being the best in college and never having anyone to stop him.
quote:I just remember him beating the Saints twice last year and finishing ahead of them in the division.
Go Cam, you look really cool doing the Superman move, as you're down by 30 points.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

In person: Cam Newton. He could not be defended. He was too big to tackle, to fast to out-run, and too accurate with his passes to bat down. He seemed impervious to QB pressure, impervious to pass defenses, just like a men among boys playing in the SEC.

I was at the Sugar Bowl in like 2000 with Mike Vick running all around.
