I don't need a new boat and don't want them to have my $$$. I'm ok with it.

People catch tagged redfish every year without CCA membership
Like the one time I win the lottery... People miss the winning numbers every year.
Let's make a deal. If I catch a tagged redfish, I'll change my name to Cheap Bastard.

Make that you wearing an "I'm with stupid" shirt with an arrow pointing up and you have a deal

There was a year several years ago where I feel like we could have challenged for the top spot in the mangrove category, but small reds have taken over that little rig recently.
If I catch the winning cobia, I will be disappointed that I missed out on a boat, but jumping like David Lee Roth about the fish.

Quote from Captain Ricks today:
"One last tidbit; if the river diversions are the answer to building land, here's a fact: The biggest diversion in the world, the mouth of the river, from 1932 to 2010, has lost 124 Sq. miles of land! Imagine that!!!"
If these guys are making statements like this, then they certainly do not understand one bit of what is going on. I hope they are overstating the effect they are having with Parish and state officials because anyone listening to these guys are having the wool pulled over their eyes.

Hopefully any person with authority can see how idiotic those guys are. However, we're being bought and sold every day, so you never know.

For anyone interested, tomorrow is a governor's advisory committee meeting on coastal protection and restoration. The agenda says that Garrett Graves will be addressing the Master Plan - fisheries perspective. Might be interesting. It is in the Natchez Room of the Galvez Building at 9:30.

See you there, I'll be the one with a middle school blond in tow so don't make any comments about her unless you need a new neck tie.

Seems the RnR rhetoric has kicked back up. Hilarious that ricks says all the at Bernard officials are playing dumb to the MP...I was at those meetings and watched their council members speak at the podium and sign the attemdance sheets.
I really feel like these guys are getting worked up from a misunderstanding of science and physics. if they could have a course with some engineers to discuss the basics of the delta life cycle in our geography, I think they would all take a deep breath and come to an understanding. Problem is, they are so fired up they don't want to hear the scientific basis for arguments to their position.

The study they are referencing "Lessons Learned from Diversions" actually supports sediment and freshwater diversions and their ability to build land when constructed properly. It is 281 pages, so obviously I haven't read it all. They do not understand the technical side or application at all.
