Unfortunately, they're booked so we're gonna try out the Grill Room in Windsor Court.

Did you ask the hotel concierge about trying for a reservation? Curious because I called for a reservation for Wed night two weeks from now and, of course, the available times are too early or too late for a few of the diners who will be with me. I'm going to call the WC concierge tomorrow to see how that works out.

ETA: Might do the Grill Room also if August doesn't come through, so please let me know how that works out if that's where you end up. Thanks!

We did call ahead and have reservations for 7 tomorrow night. I'll let you know how it goes.

I meant checking with the hotel about making the August reservation. I've read things about August "saving" the prime time reservations for locals and hotels. I have no idea if that's true, but I'm going to see if the WC can get me a reservation that's not long before sunset or long after it.

Ah. I'm not familiar with such things that fancy folks employ They had some later ones, but we have a couple who have to drive back to Jackson after dinner to work Saturday. Maybe the next trip to NOLA will consist of some August. I'll be able to afford many more trips after July

We sure are. Presentations are there as well. I've heard really good things about it so looking forward to it. Usually when I go to NOLA, I crash with some friends, but since someone else is picking up the tab, figured why not.

Try to get into the club level if you can. The lounge and the little outdoor seating is very nice.

They did a good job redoing it in the past year or so. I usually get a suite (not on the club floor), but I think the rooms are very nice from what I've heard. After July, get yourself and your SO, if there's one, a suite and stay a few nights. It's a splurge for me.

I like the way the folks treat you there. Most of the guys at the front door have been there for a long time. There were some bumps after it was sold, but they seem to be ironing some of those out.

Go to the bar after dinner. It's nice and comfortable. Usually a good singer in there. Good place to relax and have some after dinner drinks.

There's a new menu in there for snacks and the beignets look really interesting. I'd give those a try if you can work them in somewhere while you're there.

Gris, ask for Jackie when you call the Windsor court. She is your best bet.

I'll ask for her, but I don't think I qualify as a VIP.

One bad thing that happened there, recently, was that they switched their computer system. I had some problems in January with my reservations. Never got a confirming email and they'd lost all of my info in the system, so we had to go through that all over again. Check in was very slow.

Part of the charm is calling to make the reservation and having them pull you right up, welcome you back and you get a nice little welcome back card when you check in. They lost all of that. I'm not a frequent visitor, but I'm sure they have some regulars who weren't happy about it and were used to getting special treatment with all the visits they make there.

I felt bad for them. They were all very frustrated by it.

I'm not usually there by myself, but I was in January. I feel safer there than at any hotel I've been to.

Either way she is always very helpful and as accommodating as she can be.

It's my favorite hotel in the city. The service is almost always impeccable. Great bar, great restaurant, rooms are very nice. That's unfortunate about their computer system. Hopefully they didn't lose their entire past client base. That would be terrible.

Kudos to the Windsor Court. It was very nice and accommodating. Stayed in a suite and the rooms were very well kept and the staff was excellent. Very professional all around.

We ate at the Grill Room and were very satisfied. The sommelier was out on vacation, but the wait staff seemed to have been given a lecture on the pairings before so they were helpful as well. I had the white bean soup as an app, snapper as an entree and bananas foster for dessert. All were excellent. Also threw in an extra tasting item which was an oyster on the half shell with a little ham and bean sprouts which was also very good. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend it.

Thanks for the report. Glad it worked out. WC has been stepping up the game in the food dept.
