Ok here are just a couple. I'm sure I'm way off so don't poke fun. I'm sure when I'm done watching the series I will look back on this and laugh.
***DO NOT TELL ME IF I AM RIGHT, WRONG, OUT OF LEFT FIELD, OR ON THE RIGHT TRACK***
1)The electromagnetic "event" described in the video was some malfunction of the experiment leading to the station operators death. The code being entered prevents it from happening again. My guess is some form of chemical release. Rousseau's team landed near one and something similar happened which caused her team to get "sick". Maybe the inhabitants of the island saved her child.
2)Seeing as how the island is in the South Pacific, maybe it was a military experiment to prepare soldiers for a tropical warzone. The stations were used to manipulate the mind to help with survival. When the station operators stop working their station, the mind manipulation got worse. This could explain the black smoke cloud, the hallucinations, flashbacks, etc.

At this point in the series, those are as good of guesses/theories as anybody else's. The more you watch, the more you'll see if/where you're right/wrong. And like I said, once you're done with the series finale, going back and looking at your theories should be good times.
Are you to the point where it's killing you to not be able to watch the show 24/7? I remember when I rewatched with my ex, it sucked so bad if we couldn't get together and watch the show on any particular night...it meant I had to go another day without it. Lost was very much addicting for me.

Yeah I'm pretty much at that point. I can only get in 1 or 2 tonight as I have class from 5:30-8:30. I usually have to make myself stop or I won't go to sleep.

This weekend was a LOST binge for me. I watched practically an entire season between Saturday am only and sunday all day.
I will probably get to the finale tonight since I only have 3 episodes left. I'm as excited as ever being as this will be the first time I've made it back to Season 6 since the live shows.
Once I finish that, I'll probably try to start over and catch up with you, kballa. Try to feel what you're feeling as it progresses.

You're gonna instantly go from finishing season 6 to starting over again at the beginning of season 1?
Impressive.
Impressive.

It's one of the most brilliant television series ever. It's so good, networks have been trying to duplicate its success but havent been able to.

My favorite show ever. I will never be that invested again.

You'll probably pass me up eventually. With work and working on my Master's I stay busy. I can consistently get in 1 episode on M and W. The rest of the week is determined by work and what stuff the wife makes me do.

***Spolier Below***
Did that really just happen with Shannon. That felt really abrupt and out of place. I understand with AL and her past why she did it but it just seemed unlike other deaths. It makes it seem like every character outside of Locke, Jack, and Kate are easily expendable.

I'll try to stay in sync with you. Post the episode you are on when you come in for a question or comment.
Just finished the finale... what an incredible journey
I implore you to stick with this series to the end. It is special.

Just finished Season 2 Ep 9. I thought Eko had a video about the other station. I thought they knew not to use the computer for anything else.

I love the music of Lost. Here is a clip of some of the music from the show. I think its one of the reasons so many people felt emotionally connected to it.

very true. the "home theme" gives me chills every time I hear it.
Lost is one of the greatest TV shows of all time and my personal favorite.

You disliked most of the characters? I had the completely opposite view.
I started off loving Kate in season 1 then she became a whore with the love triangle. Her licking the spoon to make Jack jealous sealed the deal for me. She started off as a kick arse girl and turned into a typical love obstacle. I also hated Ana Lucia and Libby with a passion.

I hated Kate really after you find out she was the criminal.
Ana Lucia was pretty awesome though.

Remember this. The show is not any more skittish about murdering people than Game of Thrones is.

Careful, dude...you're gonna lure Freaux in here to tell us how much it sucked.

I just assumed, seeing as they were traveling from Sydney to LA. They lost communication a couple hours in and went off course. If they flew 2 hours west they would end up near the Philippines. South puts them between New Zealand and Antarctica. North and East put them in the South Pacific. My assumption may be off based though. If they explain it later on in the show please refrain from correcting me.
