this is one of the stupidest arguments i've ever seen by some of the people on this board. you really get an idea of the people who have no fricking clue what they are talking about in this thread.
the kid blew out his knee 9 months ago. 9 months.
The Bulls are securely in the playoffs with the 4th/5th seed, but they aren't a contender this year with or without Rose for the rest of the season. Chicago needs to realize that. it isn't happening this year, be patient. a major knee injury is about 70% mental and 30% physical. A superior athlete like Rose can have his knee in condition in 8-9 months, but he will be playing on this same knee for the rest of his career. that weighs heavily on his mind and will always be sitting there in the back of his mind.
the Bulls doctors don't know shite. This is his knee, his career, and his life. If he feels it isn't ready, it would be stupid to risk it for a selfish fanbase and a 4th or 5th seed team with no shot at a title. The kid needs to ignore the dumbasses in Chicago and dumbasses like here on the MSB. Don't make the mistake of coming back too soon and it affecting the rest of your career.
i like how 3-6 months ago all these chicago and random other fans across the country are all about showing their support and love for DRose as he recovers from surgery and begins therapy. Now that he is close to being back but wants more time to ensure he is fully healthy.....they are blasting him.

there was no need to say 9 months twice, because it means nothing.

Don't think anyone actually expects him to show up and become 2011 Rose but even if he is overly cautious he is a step up from their PG now. Players come back and reinjure themselves a lot, and a lot of those times it is because they are favoring their previous injury. Cause they to play a style they're not used to playing. Even taking a year off doesn't insure the psychological aspect of his game which is key issue here not his body health

for the most part i agree with this
Rose's game depends on him being explosive anyway and that's the last thing to come back. Would it be awesome if he came back sooner rather than later? Sure.
But there's a weird phase of recovering from a knee injury for a lot of people. Even though the knee is considered 100% by a doctor who examines you it feels far from that to the person using it. Every time you move suddenly it feels like the knee is about to give out and tear again. Maybe its because the strength of connective tissue changes with use, but after a longer period of rehabilitation I think Rose's confidence and explosiveness will return.

DRose blew his knee out April 28, 2012. But that doesn't mean he had surgery that day. Doctors mandate an athlete take 2-3 weeks before proceeding with surgery to let swelling and fluid to go down. DRose had surgery May 12th, 2012.
So it's almost been 10 months.
Not everyone is Adrian Peterson. frick, we've only seen one person ever to come back like AP did, AP.
what makes DRose an elite PG in the NBA? His explosiveness to the basket, slashing, and ability to be faster, quicker, and jump higher than defenders.
Where does he get this explosiveness? His legs.
So yeh, lets rush the organizations entire future for a comeback early so that a 4th/5th seed team with no shot at a title anyway can only lose by 2 games instead of 3 in the 2nd round of the playoffs.
Brilliant MSB

did you miss the part where I said it's about 70% mental and 30% physical. if the kid says he isn't comfortable on it yet, then no matter what the doctors say....he isn't.
but you'll argue the color of grass with me because I don't come to the MSB to blow LBJ daily like you do

basically what you are saying is that he is a mentally weak pussy who won't play because he is scared yo get hurt again

As usual, you can't drop thinking about him and bring him up in a discussion that had nothing to do with him.
The obsession you have with Lebron is creepy man.
Hilarious.

lol
your retorts suck as usual when you don't have stats to pull out of your arse.
why don't you start a new thread for him today, i'll meet you there. i'll watch you get on your knees and do your thing.

alright tough guy.
why would DRose comeback why? what motivation does he have?
the team is an average Eastern Conference team with no title in site. Why risk the rest of his career?
to be a macho man like "T" on the MSB or Tigerdroppings?
...i'm sure this weighs heavily on his mind during this time.

He's getting paid $16 million and he's been medically cleared. He owes to the fans who pay good money for their tickets, apparel, and whatnot to watch him play basketball.

are they going to withold that $16 million if he doesn't come back this season? Nope
will the fans not get to see him play next year? are the fans just going to stop showing up for games and not watch the Bulls play if Rose isn't on the court?
are the Bulls as an organization just going to throw their hands up with DRose because he won't come back on their timetable? Nope.

Warren Sapp's take on it, comparing Rose to A.Peterson with the Vikes: Peterson, same injury, returns in less than a yr, works hard & becomes league MVP. Rose: guaranteed money contract.

I just want to point out that Doctors are people too. They make mistakes. Just because he's been medically cleared by the team doctors doesn't mean he's actually healthy. The kid has set a goal for himself before he wants to return. He believes his knee is ready to go if he can dunk off this left leg in stride. That seems reasonable to me. No reason for him to come back if his knee isn't strong enough to support his game. Afterall, he tore his ligament on a non-contact play, which meant it wasn't strong enough then. Why risk a set back?
Posted on 3/10/13 at 2:37 pm to jturn17
but but but, the fans are paying good money.....
MSB logic: Risk entire career so he can play 15 more games in a fruitless season.

No but that doesn't mean he should be a diva. I'm not saying he should play tomorrow but he should be doing everything he can to play this season. I can't get behind them wanting to keep him out for an entire season when they're a playoff team.

you don't think he is?
the kids entire world revolves around the game of basketball. his job, his career, his life. all basketball. without it, what is he?
you can't tell me that he isn't itching to be out on that court single handedly willing that average team to a higher playoff spot or further into the playoffs.
so, he must have some motivation not to be.....might be he doesn't trust that knee quite yet. but hey, that's just one theory.

My problem is with the posters here who keep saying that he should just not worry about playing this year. I don't know how hard he's working to get back on the court, I assume he's working his arse off. I have no reason to think otherwise.
